If anyone is here in Vegas for the game, tweet me at @LCrocetto67. Lets grab a beer together. I met a lot of people on my flight who are attending. I think we'll be represented pretty well.

Bill, are you in Vegas for this one?

He played over 50 games once in his career and that was in 09. I find that to be a trend not a coincidence over a career that started in 08. It s not a knock he is a professional goalie who is now 32. Expecting him to play more games then his normal work load throughout his career is overly optimistic. Neuvy is Neuvy when it comes to health.

I agree that it's a trend. My point is that his games played has always been more about the caliber of goalie he is, and has always been considered a platoon shared starting goalie rather than a bonafide #1 starter who plays the overwhelming majority of games played. I think he is capable of playing 55-60 games a year physically. That may be a heavy load for him and may not be the best for him but I thin he is physically capable of it.

But is parting with a 2nd or 3rd really mortgaging the future? Especially with how well Hextall has stocked the prospect pool. Any team wants to play in the playoffs and the experience could be great for guys such as Provy, TK, Patrick and Hagg. I don’t care if we lose first round. I’ll take 4 games of playoff hockey any day over golfing; unless we’re drafting top 5.

Potentially yes. Gostisbehere was drafted with a 3rd round pick. Picks can be used to move up in the draft to go after a targeted player. I see no reason to use a high pick to get a stop gap back up veteran goalie if Elliott's injury is substantial when as others have said, one can be acquired for much cheaper.

Bill, it's VGK... ESPN still has it on their website as VGS, as if I couldn't take that sight any any less seriously.

Good luck tonight peeps, I'm sure it's gonna be crazy and hoping for an entertaining game. Which I think it will be with these 2 teams being matched up. I was going back on forth on wearing both Orange & Black and Golden Knight stuff but with all the orange I'm sure we're gonna see, gonna go with the Knights jersey.

I expect some loud Let's go Flyers chants followed by Go Knights Go.

It's still amazing that THAT lineup is 1st place in the West. It doesn't jive. You'd think they were getting a bump from their city's atmosphere to take Visitors off their games.

It’s pretty easy to say potentially yes when you name ONE golden pick in the 3rd round. The other 3rd round pick that has had NHL success in recent memory is Patrick Sharp in 2001. Go look up the others yourself to see our fantastic 3rd rounders. The Flyers already have a substantial amount of draft picks this season and 2 of them are 1st rounders. Picks can ALSO be used to move back to acquire more assets.

Haha exactly, why the hell would we not move a mid round pick and a non top prospect. Just because it doesn't look like we are gonna win the cup we should throw the season away? Get real, if he's out long term we need to go get a goalie. Can't just say we had a good run and will try again next year, what kind of message does that send to G,Jake, etc.

I understand what you're saying, but if a deal isn't feasible for the Flyers to acquire a goalie, they shouldn't just make a deal for the sake of making a deal just because they need one.

Injuries are a part of the game and unfortunately it happened to the most important position on ice. But I don't want this team making a desperate, panic move for a playoff spot.

It's not giving up on the season IMO. Sometimes it's just accepting things for what they are and trying to compete with what you have.

I think that's really the point. Of course you're not going to hit on a high percentage of picks but you certainly have a better chance of landing a good player if you use the pick. I'm well aware of the Flyers draft history and a big reason why they haven't hit on a lot of players in past in later rounds is because they traded a lot of picks in an attempt to win now. I don't think this team is at that point where they should be doing that. Any move giving up a quality future asset should be made for the future, not now. If it can accomplish both of that then I'm fine with it.

I don't think they need to give up a 2nd or 3rd round pick to get a backup goalie.
