Stay the course. Neuvirth can run with it as he has shown before.

Part of me thinks Elliot just got a stick in the face or something.

I hope so

The problem isn't so much Neuvirth it's who is going to be the guy sitting on the bench if Elliott is out long term. They don't have anyone capable of coming in should Neuvirth get hurt, go cold, or need a rest.

i don't love Lehner but if we could get Reinhart too for a package centered around Morin, i'd be interested.
- Mordecai

Morin and a 2nd for Lehner and Reinhart would be amazing but I have a feeling Buffalo wants more and I don't know if I'd be willing to give up a 1st which is what they'd probably want

Yeah but if he runs too fast he gets hurt
- arichardson22

I believe in Neuvirth. Think he stays healthy here for a bit.

Call me crazy.

Reinhart is a former 1st round pick and Lehner is a solid tender, you aren't going to get them for a bag of pucks. Gotta give to get in this league

I don’t pay attention to the AHL really.

Lyon or Stolarz healthy? I know they are in a playoff spot but I don’t like wasting assets just for a taste at winning a round or two. It’s a best of 7 - keep the long term view of this franchise.

We shall see what happens. I don’t want to deal youth or picks - again, for a sniff at a few playoff wins.

I'd be down for him too , solid tendy, they just need to pick up someone with experience. I played net my whole life and have had a couple serious groin injuries and the way Elliot went of the ice and just his reactions totally screamed groin to me . Hope I'm wrong but those are one the hardest injuries to recover from as a goalie
- FreshFlyer

I think he has a relatively serious groin/leg muscle injury too. And it was non-contact. Usually not a good sign.

But I'll reserve my opinions until the Flyers release an official injury report which will be very specific, offering an accurate time table for return, in a timely fashion.

Reinhart just got moved to playing with Eichel and is playing pretty well with him. I'm not sure they're looking to move him considering it's about one of the only things going right for them.

Lyon was just up and was clearly not NHL ready. I think Stolarz is injured?

true, Botterill doesn't seem like a total dummy who would just ship out a young player like that for nothing

Lyon was here. He was bad.

I think guys like Aaron Dell or Darcy Kuemper would be reasonably priced. Mid round pick perhaps? That's not so bad for a tandem goalie who might end up being better than advertised and take over the lion's share of starts for the next season or two. Both those guys are playing behind studs. Their teams won't have too much leverage rather than the Sabres who can play the #1 goalie card.

But who knows, the goalie market is wild sometimes.

Exactly, they need someone other then Lyon. With Patrick continuing to develop, that top 6 is really good. 2 dmen who are really good. Get a more reliable option in net then Lyon and give this group a chance. A tweek to the 3rd pairing would be nice

Not sure if he's on the trading block someone just brought up his name earlier so that's why I mentioned him personally I'd be after Lehner, the Flyers can add Lindblom from within as their TDL acquisition if they really want an upgrade at forward

Thing is, most teams will struggle if their starting goalie is out for an extended time.

Backups are so for a reason. Just have to hope it’s a quick heal.

What’s annoying, and yeah yeah heresay. All the signs of Elliot maybe being rushed back, and not eased in - but given a heavy workload are pretty clear.

Will say tonight would have been a good game for Neuvirth to start to begin with.

Hak does love to ride his goalies into the ground. Again, hope it’s a minor injury to Elliot.

In playoff hockey where you have to win a best of 7. I don’t see ECF. Too many guys who are just dead weight and the D is a concern with how many minutes Manning and Mac have to play.

We know I am team negative though.

This is all debatable. Before the season, Giroux had four disappointing seasons in a row and we continued to keep going back to that well until we finally moved him to wing.

Nobody will ever convince me Schenn wasn't getting better here because he was getting better every season based on production. All this "ample" chances given at center, last year Schenn played center during a ten game winning streak while Coots was hurt centering Konecny and Simmonds. None of the three exactly known as dominant players or good defensively.

Schenn was placed in a better position somewhere else in a big role and Schenn deserves credit. St Louis deserves credit for that leap of faith.

Is that comment about Giroux based on any facts ..minus last season not sure what you looked at

Elliott is day to day with a UBI. In other news funeral services for Flyers goaltender Brian Elliott were announced this morning....

Sanheim has 8 points in 8 games in the minors rn I believe, I'd call him up. If they don't I would be interested in them taking a run at Gudbranson maybe but I've heard he's been pretty bad this season so not sure if he really would be much of an upgrade. The Hagg-A Mac pair I can live with just because MacDonald is capable of putting together decent stretches of games. The Gudas , Manning pair is atrocious out there and it needs to be addressed somehow.

Will say again. Just a vibe.

Think Elliot will be back soon. Neuvirth will be fine for a while.

Hak needs a talking to, to not ride his goalies into the ground. It’s a trend his whole time in Philadelphia.

Yeah I don't mind riding the hot hand but there's been times where he'll play a guy in back to backs and you are just asking for injuries when you do stuff like that. There is a reason most goalies in the league prefer not to play in back to back games.

he's got his own version of "the facts" and it all revolves around Brayden Schenn's jock strap
