Debatable. Laughton is playing what he was projected to be (as someone mentioned earlier. Maybe you?). Imo he dealt with two very bad injuries both from the Caps. He took a season to put it together / bounce back. Not every player developes at the same curve. Same applies to Couts. My man was a very high draft pick and was viewed to have an offensive game entering the NHL. He’s putting it all together (offensively) this season. Just took some extra time. Yeah nobody expected this from Couts, but did you or anyone predict Schenn to have the season he is having. HIGHLY doubt it.

Nobody will ever convince me Schenn wasn't getting better here because he was getting better every season based on production. All this "ample" chances given at center, last year Schenn played center during a ten game winning streak while Coots was hurt centering Konecny and Simmonds. None of the three exactly known as dominant players or good defensively.

Schenn was placed in a better position somewhere else in a big role and Schenn deserves credit. St Louis deserves credit for that leap of faith.

Nobody has discredited Schenn’s season this year. He is having s great year. Good for him. But he didn’t do that here consistently. And I wasn’t referring to just last season when Schenn was tried at center for those 10 games. So Schenn’s seasons never excelled because of G having down years? Sounds like excuses and points more to the theory his line mates in STL have helped his season (who knows). Couts was also centering Jake and TK last season in the beginning which was a pretty consistent and threatening line. Both happen to be with Giroux now. We all know Jake drives play and produces on any line.
