Exactly, Schenn was given ample opportunity to show he could be a center here and didn't. Not sure if another year here would have suddenly brought that out of him. Guy was a decent producer here but he was never one to drive the play or create chances, and I don't think that ever would have happened if he stayed. Frost is looking like a real steal, and if a re draft of the past years draft was done he probably would have been picked considerably higher. Even with having to take on Lehtera as dead weight I'll take Frost and the extra 1st for Schenn every day of the week.

Certainly a chance but since there was no practice yesterday, the lines are listed as the same as the ones that started on Thursday. The morning skate will be more telling, and the lineup combos will be adjusted.

I agree that Weise was ineffective against Montreal. He'd been out of the lineup for quite awhile but he didn't do the kind of things he needed to -- be noticed for winning battles, getting under Habs' skin, etc. -- in order to stay in the lineup.

So it wouldn't surprise me if Leier is back in the lineup. I thought he played well since he finally got back in the lineup and was a bit surprised at the morning skate on Thursday when it became obvious he was a scratch and Weise was back in.

As they should be both goals were fairly soft. I can only imagine the outcry if Mase allowed does 2. Especially from a certain someone.

I like Sanheim better, and Risto is overrated, but he isn't that bad. Would never trade for him tho!

How many times did the Flyers try Schenn at center (a lot) and he did not produce like he is in St Louis. You do realize that different players gel differently chemistry wise. To me Schenn was never going to produce how he is in St Louis in Philly. I fully believe the players he is playing with in St Louis have a lot to do with his current success. Voracek and Giroux are great players but Schenn never really gelled with them in my opinion. Schenn is a good player but I don't your obsession with him its not like he was Wayne Gretzky out there or something when he played for us

Thanks, pretty much how I saw it too.

I get that Weise brings much more size, but if you don’t use that size to your advantage, it becomes a non factor. Way too often since he came to Philly, Weise has just looked disinterested and been a non factor game in and game out. I’d much rather have the smaller, but much more motivated player in the lineup.

Anyhow, thanks for getting back to me and thanks for doing such a great job covering the Flyers for us!
