Scott Laughton.

The last four years, I really didn't think he would amount too much. When he was drafted, I didn't like the pick. We just signed Vinny. Couturier, Giroux and Schenn all played center. He never felt like a good fit to me.

Now, he's exactly what most of us projected when he was drafted. Now, I find myself wanting more and I have absolute faith he has more to give.

With the Flyers being in a favorable position to make the playoffs, I have the unpopular opinion of really wanting to trade Filppula for a modest prospect or a second round pick. The reason is, want to get something for Filppula but most importantly I want to make room to give Laughton more responsibility. I think Laughton can handle Filppula's spot on the Power Play. I think he's earned it.

Also I feel German Rubstov will move into Filppula's role next season.

Laughton has some offence to his game....he may surprise one year. Like Couturier before this year he spends time on lines with line mates that offer very little offence. Not saying he’ll have a year like Couts, but he definitely can be 15-18 goal guy Centering a decent third line while producing on a second pp unit. I don’t see Hextall doing anything at TDL, but I also think Filpula will see less and less responsibility as this season progresses.

Its not like he is a bad player, he's actually quite good, just plays on a trash team. Also can hit and has size, if they made that move I'd like it tbh. Not like the Flyers don't already have Myers and Morin in the pipeline.

i could deal with losing Morin

I beg to differ, if you put him with Provy that'd be a very solid pairing. But we all have different opinions

I like Sanheim but I have this feeling he may end up being the odd man out with all the other d-men in the prospect pool.

Not sure how or why Hakstol can justify putting Weise in the line up, guy is done as an NHLer in my mind. He never had a lot of skill but the fact that he pretty much puts in no effort or at least it seems so when I'm watching baffles me as to how he even gets in over Leier. Maybe the coaches see something we don't idk

Sanheim has already shown that he can hold his own in the NHL. I think Morin and Myers are solid but as of right now Travis is a step above both of them.

Which also makes him the more attractive trade piece. One d-man is going to have to go eventually, like I said I like Sanheim but for some reason I could see him getting traded if the deal was right.
