Teams don't have that "belief or fire" w/ AV. He's a winning coach but not a "winner"
With a much younger team next year....AV has no business being the coach. He had Torts team when they made cup for for a few years, but nothing else. - rrentz
Torts lost the team and had to go, same with AV. I would say to pull an Uncle Lou and fire the coach and maybe make the playoffs, but Gorts and Slats have already thrown in the towel on the season.
I don't care if he gave AV an extension, admit your mistake and move on like he did with Smith. |

You absolutely can, arguing about them is perfectly fine, it's when people start name calling like children because of the opposing view, there are certain things that will irritate me more, one of them is AV at this point - KreiderBomb
In my defense, I almost never name call. Well except to call you crazy.. haha, which you freely admit. I called Tom a Richard last night, but that was after he called me an idiot, so I get a mulligan on that one. |

The only problem I can see with AV is the team does start playing better an Gorts gets cold feet and doesn't let him Ruff and Arniel go in the summer. That would be bad news. |

How do you have to time to do all this stats?!?! Lmao - Slimtj100
It begins with not having to deliver any mail, yet keeping myself in shape at 5'10" and 165 lbs. through my involvement with hockey both on the ice and off.

I was thinking about that debacle the other day. Oh man.
I want Ken Hitchcock. He would have been the perfect hire after leaving the Blues. |

Now that AV called Hank out, the exit interview with Gorts should be interesting. AV has to go. - Fenrir
... especially since it was Hank alone who led him to his successful record here prior to this season, and may have saved his job even back then. |

Good point. Gorton might get lulled into thinking AV turned the team around at the last moment.
Screw it, I hopping on the Tommy Tank Train if that's what it takes to get rid of AV. |

Can't forget that! He was like a kid bringing home an "A" to hang on the fridge.
Seems he's been an assistant in Buffalo since 2014.

So you think Hank is so fragile he cant have a coach mention that goaltending is inconsistent. And lets be honest, Hank has probably been the best player with Nash this season, but Hank has said many times in post games he has been inconsistent throughout the year.
My opinion is people are blowing this so out of proportion just to have something to complain about. And Hank is a big boy, I think he can brush off the horrible awful insult of being called inconsistent, which he pretty much showed everybody last night by getting 2 standing ovations. - mdw7413
My concern isn't Hank it's AV running his mouth to the media, deflecting blame like a coward, Hank has been anything other than inconsistent, from November until probably the all star break there have been 3 goalies that were heads above the rest, Rask, Vasilevsky and Hank, there was no inconsistency in that time period, bad October and so far a bad February but how can you blame him now outside of that Bergeron goal for this debacle? |

I don't blame Hank at all. Hank is the MVP of this team this year. I just don't think what AV said was a big deal. This is not a defense of AV, I want him gone, its a defense of what was said. I really dont think it was all that bad. I've had coaches literally screaming and cursing in my face and didn't bother me that much. |

In my case, it's due to honest living and accumulating savings when I was younger at work, in addition to my hockey involvements year round still today preventing me from having that other free time to get involved in other ways. In fact, work along with that hockey involvement forced me to end my seasons ticket plan with a friend, which I had from the early 1980's through the 1992/93 season. So I will accept some credit for them ending that 54 year curse in the 1993/94 season. |

Well, that was a fun read catching up from last night. - Fenrir
You're a better man than me. I couldn't do it. After three pages of the same stupid arguments I gave up.
Last night they showed some energy & pushback. Can't believe people think we should lose every single game. Even if we do, it's not guaranteed we'll get the first overall pick. Even if we get the first overall pick it's not guaranteed we'll select who the player everybody on here wants.
Bottom line is that the players are professional athletes. You don't play to lose games. Have they played well for most of the season? No. But they're not purposely trying to lose games. What benefit does that have? Do you think they care or are thinking that if they play bad we'll be saved next year by getting a great draft pick? That's ridiculous. Most of the guys have no control of whether they will be here next year or not. This is such a stupid discussion.
Rant over. |
