Yes. But he did score 37 goals last year and has been relatively healthy for the past 4+ seasons.

By relatively healthy I mean he hasn't missed a ton of games. Not sure if he sustained any concussions during that time

Guhle isn't a forward, Nylander is a ways off from being even an NHL player, let alone a first PP guy, and mittelstadt isn't even signed. Even if mittelstadt and Guhle make the team and get on PP1, ROR is still there.

Check out Eichel's ot PP winner a few games ago, or his goal last game. Both of those were ROR wins. Despite the PP being bad this year, he was a main reason it was #1 last year. I highly doubt he's getting moved off that

No one would happier than me if Mittelstadt took the 2C spot and ROR moved to 1LW or 3C, and downgraded him eventually to PP2. The Sabres have the cap space to comfortably accommodate Mittelstadt at a high paycheck, too. But saying ROR will be kicked off PP1 seems premature.

I was surprised to see how low RoR's 5v5 production was. I knew it wasn't good, but it was worse than I assumed. The thought of what it looks like without 1st PP naturally crossed my mind, as does the makeup of this team in 2-3 years. The thought that I can't get out of my mind is RoR turning into Paul Gaustad.

The warning sign for me will be when his PIMs go up due to being a step behind. He's on 2 for the year. When he climbs to 16-20, Houston we have a problem.

With the amount of cap space though, he can age gracefully into a 3C role, still be valuable, and the Sabres will have room for others
