Anyone care to make predictions on what the rest of Kane's career will be?

Will he hit 30 goals again? Multiple times? Will he top his 55 point season? Are the injuries done?

- jcragcrumple

Maybe
No
Probably
Definitely not

If he doesn't get a minimum of a 1st rounder and a decent prospect for Kane, he will get an F in my books. I think he has overplayed his hand big time. When Kane was ripping it up in November and December, that was obviously the time to unload him. He had the market to virtually himself because teams like the Rangers, Ottawa, Montreal etc were still seeking the playoffs. Now he has much more competition. I think if i dusted off my old macro economics text book, it's called the supply demand curve. Too much supply now will reduce the price for Kane, Gorges, Lehner and others.
Botterill has an MBA from Michigan. Pretty sure he knows this.

Also, could you imagine how this board would explode if Kane got seriously hurt or ended up with another assault charge. Yikes!

That is what I was worried about. I think at the end of the day we end up with a 1st and a decent prospect or a 1st and a conditional 2019 2nd.

I remember everyone telling me Phil Kessel was a bum and we didn't need that overpaid crap.
- ImThatGuy

Yeah, that was me
I also said he’d never win a Cup

In my defense,
I meant he’d never LEAD his team to a Cup
Just about anyone can go play with Crosby & Malkin and win one

He’s been really good though

Yes. He has come close to that last year on a bad team. And the last time he scored 30 was on a good team. I think there is room for improvement if he lands on a good team for sure

Yes, not multiple times. I think he’s actually smartened up and played less physical, which will lead to less injuries, but his “big physical presence” has not been there this year

No, No, No, and No.

He's at the age where he should start to decline. I don't see any reason for him to start matching career highs.

He has the anti-RoR problem....he produces very little on the PP. If he clicked on someone's 1st PP, then his production jumps up. It's hard to see that happening.

The real question is: was kane's value ever high?

I can see it now.

Fire jbotts we were offered (2) 1st's and he said no.

Jbott's degree isn't real

Darren Dreger -

On Kane's production dropping:
"The fact that Evander Kane's production has dipped has been a deterrent, but we might start to see some activity two weeks leading up to the deadline. That may make things interesting for a potential Kane trade.

He’s gotta start scoring again

A 2week drought is nbd
But this is becoming concerning

Is Jack still not worth 10m or did those people go back in a hole ...

Imagine if suffocating Kane was not with him half the year

Dude you have a gift, go in to politics, you would be incredible.
YOUR spin is second to none, take two words from fifty and bark on like it was an excerp from Mein Kampf.

Eichel’s play has improved 200% from the beginning 1/3rd of the season...if you can’t see that, pull your head out of you ass.

So we shouldn’t listen to offers for Jack anymore?

(Idk if it was u who’d said that or not?)

I imagine you, and I certainly would listen to offers on any and everyone if I were a GM. To not do so would be derelict in duties of your office.
The offer would need to be astronomical however...So, most likely it would be a short conversation.

Anyone who can’t see Jack’s play has improved should then be like Mike Schopp and just read the stats to determine who played well for each game...cause their eyes simp,y aren’t working. His play is completely different from just 2 months ago, and guess what, his production has gone through the roof.

hete’s the best part..for another 3-5 years, he is just going to continue to get better...he just may turn into the best player in the league.

Meh, I’m squarely in the camp that Kane has packed it in, in full anticipation of The Trade. I can understand that .., imagine if he like, you know forechecked hard and fell into the boards and separated his shoulder or broke a couple of ribs.

GM have multiple, multiple seasons to evaluate his play. They either want him with his warts, or they don’t. I don’t think his play one way or another has increased or decreased his value substantially. If a GM doesn’t understand that, well, he should be looking for a new job.

Of course...
the narrative was just ridiculous in here for a week or so
Ppl were saying we should take offers on Jack like they were talking about Josh Gorges or something

Not that his defense (and faceoffs) don’t need to get better
Of course they do

Ppl on here just get fired up & overly exaggerate like crazy
That it got that way with Jack was just comical
