How's Brandon Montour doing? - MiloslavHorava
Growing pains ... lots of upside though ... saddled with juice or Beauch would bring even Leetch down a notch |

A 5.4% chance of getting him?
And if we suck a little more, we can work our way up to a 10% chance. |

Yup. He's the prize. But gettting one of Zadina, Svechnikov, Tkachuk, Bouchard or Boqvist wouldn't be a terrible consolation prize. |

No doubt. But short of a trade, the Rangers have no shot at him. If they win the lottery (unlikely), they'll draft Dahlin. If they don't, they'll pick somewhere between 5-10, and he won't be there.

Picks 1, 2 and 3 are all drawn by lottery though, so if you finish in the bottom ten there's a chance you can get a top 3 pick. |

I know. I think he should go 2nd overall. He's been excellent. |

If we end up at 8-9 I would trade that with one of the 20+ and a 2nd and get into the top 5 |

The Rangers do need some quantity of young prospects. Guess depends on who is available and if they like certain players later in the round.

I’m assuming we’ll have at least 3 first round picks and I’m sure more than just our own 2nd. |

Gotta find someone to dance with though. I don't think any of the first three picks are going anywhere. |

I have had some time to process that "Letter to Fans" today and I have to admit to very mixed feelings. It represents many things:
1) Very bold move---don't recall anything like this in history of NY sports
2) Classy move---shows they are at least thinking about fans frustration
3) Transparent--- they are telling fan base publicly--- yeah we are going to blow it up.
On the other hand, brace yourselves because your favorite players may be gone in next couple of weeks!
I am very conflicted... |
