For me D-Men have never stopped being D-Men, regardless of what the secondary stat “geniuses” say. Nice if a D-Man can skate the puck out of his end but you can’t do that if you can’t win the puck with aggressiveness in a puck battle. Regardless of their other attributes a D-Man who is not tough on the puck borders on useless. .

I don’t have any place on the roster for a player who can only use his fists. The only one they typically match up is another goon, so who are they protecting.

I wholeheartedly agree that the d-men need to be tough on the puck. I would prefer some forwards and d-men who can play with an edge. They don’t need to be cheap shot artists or d-bags, but they have to make life difficult for the other team and able to put a little hurt on their opponents. You don’t play to injure, but you can play to hurt.

Every time we play the Stars or Blues they absolutely own us inside the dots

Jordan Oesterle way way over evaluated by this organization, he is a live version of a tabletop hockey player defenseman, With shoulders made of glass,he sucks, he’s an AHL defenseman at best. He put the puck right on the Dallas player stick with no pressure on him at all ,Over evaluating players like this guy is what is going to get Stan Bowman in trouble.

Duke does not impress me in the least, other than skating. He's fast, but man his hands suck. I thought he could handle it better than this...this isn't the first time Ive seen him blow up a good rush with poor puck control.

Problem isn’t his hands, I think - it’s decision making, holding the puck too long, not making the simple play - like the TO that led to the first Dallas goal.
