That fact may make him cost a little less. When he is healthy he is very effective. He's not as bad as Lupul injury wise.

He moves the puck well and is solid overall on D. Defends amazingly. he is very mobile and usually makes the safe, smart play with the puck. Oh.. he shoots right!

(frank) no. JVR is an opportunity to get a 1st round pick or a good prospect. No need to waste it on another pending UFA who is in decline.

It never ceases to amaze me that Tripp Tracey has a job calling hockey games.

I don't think JVR weakens us really. He's not even on our top two lines. Move Kap up to the 3rd line with Brown and get a stronger 3C. We add a solid dman and a 3C center replacing JVR and Bozak, I don't think that really weakens us much at all and might well spark the PP more too.

I can't agree with this sentiment though.

Too much unexpected stuff happens in the playoffs and I think if the Leafs got a bunch of breaks, a la Ottawa last year, they could actually contend.

I know the rebuild isn't done and I am not a JVR or Bozak fan but I think they are good enough, or can be good enough this year that you have to give them every chance.

Moore, Leivo Soshnikov could all go imho. The rest could all be useful pieces in the playoffs.

Leivo could slot into the top 9 and not look terrible if we had to; Soshnikov will be ready too and would look fine on the 4th line again, move Brown up.

He's a winger; so's Willy. I don't see these guys converting to center anytime soon.

Plus with what they bring, they don't need a playmaking center, just a guy who can win draws and be responsible, like a Hanzal or Bonino.

Eaaaasy.. I really don't see the leafs making more than one hockey trade. I think most of what goes down will be minor. I'm more then ready to see JVR dealt and have a feeling breaking Marner away from that line is a prelude to it.
