This tends to be the general consensus (along with Deep Purple as well).

I like to call the proto-metal sometimes to indicate that metal would not exist without them, but generally not included in the genre of metal.

Queen is the same as all of them. Some songs are heavy, others are not. They did not limit their songwriting for the sake of a musical genre that didn't really exist at the time. For example, the prophet's song is very metal, lazing on a sunday afternoon is not.
