Yup, that's what I said in EK's blog. Truth of the matter is I don't want to see ANY of our players go to TOR, ever - VanHockeyGuy
Just came back from there and added my 2cents worth. |

With A healthy Edler and Tanev in the lineup we are still headed for bottom 3. So really having them here to 'mentor' makes little to no difference at all. On a PO team they are 3-5 slot dmen at best. The fact they are our top pairing says where we are going. The D needs a FULL reset. Even if we sold all else and kept Tanev/Edler we are no further ahead. Our forward cupboards are getting stocked which is great and we have Demko coming...but my god the D needs work.

I was agreeing with you that we need a full restock on D. |

Burrows knew EXACTLY what he was doing. He was just embarrassed by a clean hit by Hall on the play before the whistle. While the guy loved being a Canuck, and I loved his passion for the Canucks, he is complete scum - Codes1087

I don't know what all the fuss is about. Chris Pronger was interviewed between periods last night. So respected. Makes me laugh.
Compared to many NHL 'heroes' I see nothing wrong with Burrows' actions. - bloatedmosquito
While I would agree Pronger was one of the dirtiest pr**icks out there at least we knew where we stood with Pronger and his antics. If he wanted to crosscheck or punch someone or defend a teammate he would just do it as such. With Burrows there is no telling what will be next... |

I think people just look at the Q and think if you don't score you aren't any good. Veleno has a defensive game. He's strong on the puck. I have him at 10 right now. If he drops, I think he becomes a real steal. He was captain of the u18s last season. - manvanfan
He's someone to keep an eye on as you mention he's red hot since being traded and was a hugely promoted kid coming into the CHL. If he continues to shoot the lights out I agree he'll go top10 for sure, might be a late bloomer! |

Crawford had no problem benching Seabrook.
Deboer has no problems benching Hansen
Green needs to get with the times. - Codes1087
Agreed, but Deboer and Joe Q are both vet coaches who have been to the Stanley Cup.
Probably an easier move for them to make than a rookie coach. |

I don't buy that. He can humiliate Nilsson on camera. He can call out the Sedins before the season even starts and say they were not good enough last year, but he can't bench a veteran who is not living up to their contract, playing the way he wants, or showing interest in the game. I don't buy it man. Rookie or not, holding veterans and rookies to a different standard is a slippery slope to failure. |

You want them to trade for EG
And Tampa or NYI to trade for Tanev

Burrows is a piece of work, no doubt. But the biting, hair pulling, etc. is not nearly as bad as skate stomping. As far as I'm concerned, stomping on someone with a skate is assault.
The only thing Burrows' is doing with those antics is embarrassing himself and his team. |

Fair enough. I don’t think he knew the cameras were on for practice during the Nilsson call out, maybe he did but I think it was a mistake made by a guy used to coaching in the AHL.
The Sedin call out was good, but he basically just said they had to be better this season and they agreed with him. So he limited them to 3rd line mins at 5v5 then injuries hit + guys like Gagner/Eriksson didn’t produce, so he gave the twins more ice time.
Scratching a long time vet who’s not used to being scratched is a lot different than saying “he needs to be better” imo
I wish more coaches in this league had the balls to do it, but it is what it is |

Yeah, I agree that the malicious poop is way worse than being a clown.
But the knees to the back of a head on a guy who’s laying on the ice is (frank)ing stupid. He crossed the line from clown to (frank)ing idiot yesterday. |

As soon as the players made more money than their coaches the whole NHL coaching system started to fail. IMO, Babcock is the only NHL coach with clout over his players and that's because he makes more than most his players. |

The Canucks have 48 points in 53 games this season.
Through 53 games last year they had 52 points and two seasons ago they had 54. |

What's wrong with just punching Hall in the mouth, I don't get the hair pulling, biting, kneeing guys in the head. Love that he stands up for teammates but come on man, cut the poop. - LeftCoaster
So he loses it when he snaps. Don't piss him off is the moral of the story

Coaches know when cameras are rolling.
Mike Yeo knew when he spazzed.
Glen Gulutzan knew when he spazzed.
Guy Boucher knew when he spazzed.
Coaches know exactly who is in the stands when practices are running, as most as not open to the public.
Green puts on a tough front, and portrays as a coach who holds everyone accountable, but until MDZ/Gudbranson/Ericsson/Granlund get healthy scratched when they play like poop, I won't buy it. |
