Ya know its easy to say "we should have grabbed this guy or that guy" after the fact. Look at the other teams . They are in the same sinking ship as we are with draft picks. Sometimes you hit , most of the times you don't . A lot has to do with the players around them. Need to get the right group together. hope our new GM can get it right.

how did malone look?

does he have the wheels to be an nhl player

- navinrjohnson

The game was fast overall I was with 3 other hockey fans and all of us were surprised with the speed.

Malone was in the mix but didn't stand out.

I've always thought the draft age was too young.

Wasn't he distantly related to Artem Kryuikov?

Which lends credence to the theory of hisNylander's game being built for the NHL not AHL. Call him up, put him with Jack for 5-10 games, and see what happens.

It's almost as though he is still adjusting to the smaller ice in NA

Right, if he needs more space to get his shot off it certainly isn't going to happen in the NHL when time and space is even lesser in the show than it is in the AHL

I will agree with that and I'd bet his injury might still be lingering a bit. There's just too much raw talent to give up on this kid at 19 years old. He might not be a full time Sabre until he's 21, but by the time he's 23-24 he could be lighting up the league on jack's wing. I wouldn't throw away that possibility by adding him as a throw-in on some random Kane-like deal just like we did with Armia.

No, you're right, he won't have more time and space at the NHL level, that's why I don't think he should be there on any permanent level. He just doesn't have any competent centers to work with in Rochester, either. I'm sure all those sweet setup passes from Malone are few and far between. But, just a few games with jack or even RoR might help GMJB better evaluate what he needs to do for Nylander to get him on the right track in his development.

Sabres need to be very aware of Nylander puck hogging...he can’t be with Jack cause he will suffocate him.

A full season in the OHL, and a full season in the AHL. How long does the adjustment take?

What does anything about sweet set up passes have anything to due with the statement that he needs more time and space to get his shot off?

If you think that's going to happen playing with Jack then I can't really help you.

There is even less time and less space in the NHL.

I am not writing him off he is still a teenager but thinking he will be better in the NHL where there is even less time and less space is very flawed logic.

I have an Olympic sheet and a NHL size rink at the rink I run.

It's not an easy transition
