Kane was at a torrid pace 5 on 5 to start, has done nothing since.

5 on 5 points
Eichel - 27
Kane -21
Okposo -16
Pominville - 15
O’Reilly - 15
Reinhart -10
Pouliot -10
Girgensons -8

Why is Reinhart closer to Girgensons than he is Pominville?

His hockey mind is too sharp for his own good.

Still like pommenville 2.0

That goal gets pommer a free pass from me : Forever.

Also kane is in his prime and has 36 points this year.

Pommer is past his prime and has 20 points with far less ice time.

Just an opinion, I realize you are fond of kane.

Where would the sabres be without him?
They could fall 1 spot in the standings.

- Boss34

That argument doesn't hold water.

Where would the Sabres be without Eichel?

They could fall 1 spot in the standings.

Sure there are lots of reasons not to sign Kane to a long term deal.

And just for the record I'd go $6M x 4 years. $6.5M absolute max, definitely no more than 4 years. If he wants more than 4 years he has to give up money. I'm not one of these crazy people who want to give him $7M for 6 or 7 years.

Having said all of that, trying to find a guy to reliably average 24 goals for you is going to be tough at best. Tougher if he can actually produce away from Jack like Kane has proven he can do, this cold streak aside.

The only thing Kane costs is cap space. Bringing in someone else to fill that role is going to cost assets. Assets the Sabres are already thin on.

Nope...
replacing Kane (and Sam and ROR) will be easy
Just ask Sbroads

We can replace a 25goals scorer with a guy who gets 25assists,
bc that’s the same thing

I remember reading in the paper one year about how he was going to try and not shoot it though the goalie, the boards and the first 5 rows. And he stuck with it, for like 4 games.

Long day. 16 hours round trip - 2 1/2 hour break in Philly.

Came through some nasty precipitation between Binghamton and Syracuse and got caught between two interstate plows going 33mph side by side to clear the road (for about 45 minutes). That slowed me way down.

It didn't appear to be intentional. Neither one saw the other until they collided.
- Wetbandit1

Kane played like a high school kid last night. He looked silly on the bench screaming f**k, broke about 4 sticks. The place is so quiet everyone can hear it. He was looking for trouble, he has full control of his body, I think it was intentional. As he was recovering from the hit right before he gets up, he dropped the boot on Barkovs face.

Housley was throwing a bunch of tantrums on the bench last night, nice to not see him so robotic.

That 4th goal was terrible by Johnson, REALLY bad

It's amazing how many shots they missed last night. Like holy poop, Girgensons was 2 feet away and totally missed. But the one thing you really notice in person at the game? How (frank)ing slow they are. They can't win a foot race to save their lives.

I asked my kids if they wanted to go to a game, and they said "Bandits"? They are 14 and 15. Sabres losing a generation of fans by sucking ass, just like Pegula's other team. It's going to be a long, hard slog out of this hole these teams have dug for themselves.

To be fair, that 25 goal scorer is asking for 7MM a year +.

The objective was accomplished for last night’s game, with one exception.
The lost again without getting absolutely blown out.
Although Kane did not score, had he done so, it would have been a perfect night.

I am hoping the rumors are right and we see Kane felt within the next week, preferably this weekend.

Bills blow as well, although I do believe they have the right leadership in place.
There are just way too many holes to fill in key positions, and while the have $25M in cap space, that will go quickly.

I’m seeing a step backwards next season...and will be ok with that if they acquire their franchise QB.

I want Baker Mayfield, move the friggin house for him...he is the next Drew Breese

This scenario (top QBs failing) happens way, way too often.
