Again... i think your hate has gone too far

In your example,
u gotta remember that it works both ways

Do i think Pouliot’s stats would go up with Eichel?
Yeah, of course

But i also think Eichel’s stats would probably go down

I guess that’s all tough to say
But there’s a reason Sam was drafted so high
And while he may not be producing like most #2 picks,
he also has better skills than an average NHLer like Pouliot

- jdfitz77

There was a reason Bogosian was picked 3rd overall

And you realize Poliout was picked 4th overall, right?

It's entirely possible that ERod, Fasching, Baptiste, Bailey, and Smith don't stick in the NHL. If you're betting, the over/under is probably 1 at this point. The next wave of prospects will be here next season and could overtake them very fast. The competition is great. The fact that these guys haven't played better in the NHL is not.
- Lunaion

Smith hasn’t gotten a shot
Baptiste & Fasching have had very limited games here, and mostly on line4
I don’t think Rodrigues has even played 1 game in the top6
Bailey had a nice look with ROR last year,
but I’d like to see him get another chance before casting him aside

No, not all of them will likely work out
But limited chances on a terrible team, often playing on the 4th line....
that’s not enough to make me want to give up on them

I knew he was 1st round,
didn’t realize that high

I’m guess I’m just not with you that Sam & Pouliot have the same ceiling
So far, Sam’s worst is roughly on pace for Pouliot’s best

So i think Sam can still go up,
whereas Pouliot never even peaked

The only reason Sam will go up, is because he’s on a line with Eichel.

Which if he stays there, cool. But if a GM dangles a D prospect, I’m listening.

Reinhart has been invisible for most of his time here. He deflects mosts his goals on the PP, and makes some nice passes occasionally. He’s not an impressive player in the least

FIFY

He should've just stopped after The Sixth Sense. They were all poop after that. Having said that Signs was probably the best of the bunch after The Sixth Sense.

Have you seen him this year?

He’s had 6-7 good games out of what, 46?

We seem to overvalue the two perennial 40 point wingers on this team

I’m not denying his sh!tty start

And stop classifying Kane as a 40point player
It’s nonsense

That’s what he is.

And before you say “Joe Thornton doesn’t score goals”

He’s scored 100 points multiple times without being a huge goal scorer

Oh and he has more 30 goal seasons than Kane

Ok, but this depends on scenario.

Carolina for example is looking for a top 6-9 forward

They have 7 D men who are either top 4, or top 4 potential.

I’d rather acquire Jake Bean or Haydn Fleury, and replace Reinhart with a cost effective player, than overlay for an established D man.

Like I said, it’s not always going to work. But we know now what Reinhart is. Swing away

- sbroads24

I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised that the current run Sam is on, while not playing with Eichel, is the indicator the next step in his development is underway, if only because you're 100% certain he's nothing more than a blah 20-20 guy after his 3rd pro season while historically it has taken up to a 6th to 7th pro season for players, yes even top 5 picks, to show their best.

That’s still a bad (and quite biased way) to characterize him

And u know it

25goals & 15assists
is better than
15goals & 25assists

But u act like they’re the same thing

It is? I disagree. It’s the same

Kane sets up way fewer goals than most top 6 players

You don’t think that negatively effects his line mates ?

He’s statistically an awful passer

You could be right. I just wouldn’t count on it.

The guys who take years to develope didn’t have the mental aspects of the game down, or the opportunity on the top line like Reinhart did from day 1 (in year 2)

It’s guys like Drouin who wasn’t “trusted” or didn’t know where to be and had to deal with constant demotions that take years to develope.

And yes, there are outliers on each side of the fence
