However, Brooks was adamant that the Rangers were NOT going to sign Shattenkirk and he basically shot down the rumors the day of the signing. Just saying

Remember a couple of weeks ago Evander Kane and Justin Falk got into a heated argument during a Sabres practice? They were arguing over Kanes hard check on Zach Bogosian. Bogosian is having hip surgery resulting from injury from that hit and is out the rest of the season.
Think Kane is hoping to get out of Buffalo??

But he was kinda right bc the Rangers didn’t want Shattenkirk. He called them up and basically said I’ll take w.e years and money to make me a NYR. That’s why he got substantially less in terms of money and years than what other teams were offering.
