I dance like a Greek God, have a murse that I bought in Italy, ferment my own cider from my own apples, watch hockey, enjoy hockey fights and stopped fighting myself in my mid 20's when I got married, the first time.
Just because someone likes physicality it doesn't turn them into a misogynistic pig, I've been banned for calling out people on this forum who actually think like the second half of your statement states.
I also own three chainsaws and spent the windstorm clearing the road as a firefighter and people's driveways as a neighbour. My truck is probably the biggest of anyone's here and it's not an extension of anything, I use it to haul gravel and pull my excavator around.
According to your statement I don't exist, take it back or I'll dig a hole in your driveway so you can't get to work. - Pres.cup

Best quote from this...
"Fights have a purpose in this league as a way to not only tell the opposition that you're mad but also to tell your teammates that you have their back." - VanHockeyGuy
Agreed. I think most of us here are trying too say we need toughness, but we all have a different opinion of what kind of toughness that should be.
I am a believer that you shouldn't have goons, but some players who are more than capable of being a regular contributor on the ice, whether it be penalty kill or 4th line energy types. Preferably, a player or 2 in the top 6 forwards, top 4 defense that can provide some of that.
Down the road, we may have a little of that with Gadjovich and Lind. Hopefully Jake can learn to be a better player at doing some of that as well, he just needs someone to show him how. |

The game is moving away from a culture of overt violence and frontier justice. Fighting however, is still a tool available to any team or player, and it should be available when necessary. There is and will be a more pronounced need to protect young star players. Brock is a larger man, so he will be better off than many. However, OJ and EP are slightly built and will become immediate targets, should they demonstrate a modicum of talent.
The current team's forward group construction, outside of the top 2 lines is acceptable for a bottom feeder but does not lend itself to developing any identity, other than a losing group.
Players identified on my most recent understanding of the iteration that is the third line, identifies three tweeners (where the term tweener is meant to denote "too small to grind, not enough skill to be elite level point producers) - granlund, sutter, and Sven.
The fourth line has players that are arguably good AHLers, but at this point, borderline NHL players. No player on the 4th line would appear to a bone fide point producer at the NHL level (based on past performance), nor are they a difficult or intimidating bunch to play against.
Frankly speaking, this team's forward group is too physically weak to defend themselves, would be unable to make time and space in a close checking or heavy game, and is unfortunately not skilled enough to engage in any form of a track meet against a skilled team.
My views, which I am sure some will agree with, others will not agree with, and a third group will partially agree with. |

Gilman on Virtanen: Here's a guy who's a big body, can skate like the wind, has a great release. He's still a player who can be a top-six forward, and that needs to be fostered. He needs to be held accountable, but he shouldn't be the protector of everyone on the ice #canucks - LeftCoaster
Agreed. I don’t care if he fights but he needs to be physical on the forecheck and give a more consistent effort every night. |

I think the passive aggressive Swedish culture plays a part in this. So yes the Gad's and Lind's may help down the road. |

Ok. According to this "stats" site, Floida is not so good on defense.

I didn't say anything about teams, I said those players actually have some defensive acumen. when you put stats in scare-quotes is it because you don't think they real? seems like an odd thing to do |

That 3rd line is fugly. I’m okay with Sutter as a bottom 6 player but that line seems like a misfit/spare parts line. I don’t think opposing coach’s will have a problem throwing out their scoring lines against them.
Not your fault since all 3 of those guys will likely be on the roster and you have to put them somewhere lol, but blah. All 3 of those guys struggle to create plays for linemates. |

They can be on the 4th line because the twins will be in the third line. Easy fix. |

That’s literally the only time I’ll tune in to local sports radio.
1040 when they have Taylor and the other guys isn’t even sports talk. Sounds like I’m listening in on a conversation with my dad and his friends talking about the good old days and what food they’re planning to eat later to get even fatter. |
