Not that Kane couldn’t do that too,
but Girgs doesn’t shoot like Kane did,
which means the puck can be on Eichel’s stick more

Might not show immediate dividends in a big way on the scoreboard...

But i think Eichel having the puck more is a good thing for:
-his confidence
-keeping him “involved”
-us maintaining control of the puck
-helping game flow tilt in our favor
-making defenses really have to focus on Jack, potentially freeing up the 2nd line
(at least a little)

I might be reaching with some of these
But i do think even if they’re all just slightly better,
that it can cumulatively add up to make a difference

Basically...
if it gets Eichel more involved,
then having Gus on his wing instead of Kane seems like a good idea to me

I’ve been saying for a while u don’t need your 3 most talented guys on a line together

Just puts guys together that work

I think he fell bc of the “KHL” fear
Slepyshev was another guy i liked in the 3rd that year, but i haven’t paid attn to how he’s been doing w the Oilers

If i remember right we took Baptiste,
who i didn’t know much about
He was awesome that next season though
And i do think he’s got a chance to be a decent player for us
I’d really like to see Baptiste get a chance up here (in the top9, not line4)
