Kane's value is definitely not UP.

Guy's that are playing in the nhl and are barely noticeable on the 3Rd line are not worth as much as a guy who was leading his team in scoring for half the season.

Same guy. Cold as ice.
2 goals in the last 17 games.

That's terrible, value continues to drop

- Boss34

Still haven’t answered the question
Looking for your estimation,
since u keep repeating this over & over again

I believe that before u said a “B” prospect & a 1st
So what’s he worth now that his value has been dropping for the last 2 weeks or so

I’d rather have an overpaid ROR & Okposo,
than replacing them with average guys like Perrault

And how much “overpaid” are they even?
1 mil?

- jdfitz77

how many second line centers make more than ror

second question, how many of those that make more are on a non playoff team?

A guy who’s CAREER HIGH in goals is 18, and points is 45 is “EXCELLENT”

This is why we argue so much
You undervalue our guys & overvalue those in other teams

Saying Perreault is even “good” is pushing it... but excellent... come freaking on
That’s ridiculous

- jdfitz77

Look at his career time on ice.

He’s never come close to 20 min a game, yet still produces close to the same as O’Reilly in terms of efficiency.

You like basic stats and look at nothing beyond

Bored of Kane value arguments, none of us know. Pretend it's a 1st + good prospect. I don't think RoR is worth that. RoR wouldn't net Zadorov straight up now. I don't think he'd get Compher and a 2nd. Would love to be wrong, but 5x7.5 (after this year) hurts his value a ton.
- Lunaion

Cabin mentioned only 6 million a year after this year for ror.

If its a $ thing that lowered his value, I get that.

He's probably played point wise and intangibles wise to what tmgm was expecting. He's around a 60 point guy, kills penalties, great at face offs. Seams like a leader, maybe not

This year?
Or over say the last 3 or 4
40 games is way too small a sample size
ESP when one player is on a good team & another is on a horrible one
And the gap is MASSIVE
Perrault wouldn’t even make it to camp for Team Canada
Meanwhile, O’Reilly was starting for them
There’s a reason for that
ROR is good
Perrault is average

Also...
what are we getting if we trade ROR?
If it’s just a 2nd pair defenseman, then why overpay with ROR?
We just traded Foligno & Ennis for one

- jdfitz77

This is incorrect

So you’re sticking with “Perreault is excellent” then?

If that’s the case,
why hasn’t he earned more icetime?

And speaking of not looking at the whole picture...
the situations during that icetime matter,
not just the total

He isn’t average. Just isn’t given the same opportunity or has the false reputation Ryan O’Reilly does.

Did you not see what 365 posted?

Oh and Perrault is 61% on the dot this year before you bring that up

For what he’s making and his role, one of the leagues best.

He’s not going to play over Scheifele, Wheeler, Laine, Ehlers. Those guys are going to get the 18-20 min a night

First...
how much is ROR overpaid in your estimation?

Why do ppl keep not answering easy direct questions???

To answer yours...
1) a handful
2) very few

However,
ROR is NOT the reason we aren’t in the playoffs
And it certainly isn’t that the amount he’s overpaid could have another player here who would put us in the playoffs

Oh, my bad...

Yeah, he’s EXCELLENT
you’re right...

So excellent that he doesn’t get increased ice time

His coach must be so stupid to not play such an excellent player more

I just can't get over the fact that you think his value is UP. If he was playing well , his value would be higher.

So maybe when kane was super hot and people on here thought he was irreplaceable and better than Jack his value was higher. Even to the sabres. He was scoring .

Now he's leveled off and so has his value. It's not like he's just had a bad few games. It's a month or so now. He just isn't noticeable as he was early in the season.

if you have 2 centers in their 20's and you are paying them 17.5 mil per

you damn sure better be advancing in playoffs

$'s and cap hit are different. Cap hit is 7.5.

GMTM expected him to be a 1b C on a cup contending team. He expected more from him, don't think there's any doubt on that.

no but some are suggesting we drop ror to the 3rd line when/if we are good

never heard of a 3rd line center making 7.5 per

Ok...
then explain these please

Carlson has more even strength points than Karlsson

O’Reilly has more than Toews

Evander has the same as Auston Matthews

U guys take a stat,
and act like there’s not a dozen other stats/factors that go into telling a player’s actual production

Yet u accuse me of being to simple in that regard

Explain those above anomalies

Good point, I'm actually on the fence with ror.

He brings intangibles, face offs ect. Def center

But

Seams slow and is being paid alot.
He's still relatively young.

When he's playing well I like him more. Typical fan.
