Hagg and Provorov make the same amount on their current contracts,

Therefore, we could get the same exact return for Hagg as we could for Provorov.

so does McDavid

Then let's do Hagg and a 3rd for McDavid. Seems like a steal for Edmonton.

I'm really not following.

How is that weakening our NHL team?

Yes! I was going to include "grit" in my post but wasn't sure that was the word I was looking for.

I wonder how much the acquisition of Patrick had to do with moving G this early. I think most assumed it was coming, just not yet.

Whatever the reason was, it's had great results so far.

That is Hak's biggest success so far, IMO.

Raffl is the kind of player whose trade value would never match his on-ice value.

I think he expected Filppula to be better and certainly expected Patrick+linemates to be better

But if we do that, how will we trade all of our players for pretty draft picks?
- jmatchett383

I know you're being sarcastic but I truly believe this off season we could see some of these shiny objects traded, for the right deal of course.

We should trade our shiny objects to make room for Jack Hughes

Sure is possible we have plenty of shine on our new toys with no path to promise land for some of them.

I did expect more from Patrick early on, not as much as others did. I expected 10-15 points in the first half of the year, 15-20 2nd half of the year.

Based off the way he's playing, I would hope to see a bit more offensive output during these last 30-some games.

Well, the Flyers are definitely a ".500" hockey club this year so mark your calendar, boys.

Raffl is not that cheap and I would like to make room for Lindblom, Frost, Rubstov, Martel, Vecchione, Ratcliffe, Laberge, Vorobyov, and Aube-Kubel. Granted only 3-4 of them are likely to become NHL regulars but Raffl is a known quantity, his game isnt going to get much better. The more spots we open for these guys, the quicker we find the right players. I will add we also need to move out the Lehteras, Filppulas, and Weisses of the team, but yea... thats why I trade Raffl.
- youarewrong

Raffl makes 2.3 mil on a deal that expires next year. That's about average for what an NHL player makes.

He plays up and down the lineup and has among the best possession numbers on the team. He plays in just about every situation.

For what he does, and for what they gave up to get him (nothing), the Flyers are doing just fine on that deal.

Because it's a horrible way to characterize someone. If I come out tomorrow and lie about you trying to take advantage of me sexually, does that make you a bad person?
