When I think of the Sharks the first thing that comes to mind ( other than the time I did the cage thing with a 5.5 M Great White in Gansbaai, SA ) is Brent Burns. The guy can just dominate a game. Normally I'd say the Burns vs Buff matchup would be the one to watch but they probably don't cross paths that often in a game. You may see Burnsy blocking a Buff PP shot from the point a few times though.

Other than Burns , the SJ team is always a matchup I worry about. I grimace as I see a SJ game approaching on the schedule. They are a big team who hits hard . I often worry about injuries when we play them. This would be a game where Toby, who we talked about in the last thread, will get tested.

Go Jets !

So I quoted myself on this. Overtime finally saw Burns vs Buff. Buff wins the battle!

As for Enstrom and his test. He failed miserably. Completely manhandled . It doesn't bode well for Toby come playoff time.

As for the injury worry. It came true as well . Kulikov. Another war against the Sharks. Lets hope we don't meet them in the playoffs. BTW... I also hate playing St. Louis.

Anyways....2 pts. Happy ending.

California teams are big boy games to be sure.
7 games against any of them would be tough.
Armia with another strong game, so consistent and Morrissey really is rock solid

Get Enstrom off the ice , the loyalty factor is to our detriment now.
Does not belong out there

I missed period 2 and 3, have an early morning so needed to hit the hay early but it sounds like a barn burner. These are my favourite quotes that I could barely wait to read this morning!

You’re wrong, and I’m not sorry.

Somehow I knew a response was coming from Rexy, lol.

Dano looked terrible on that 2nd Sharks goal as well. He tried to play the puck instead of just taking out Couture. Should have been an easy play to defend. Get him off the ice !

Toby in he corner with Pavalski and Thornton was like watching a baby seal get clubbed.
So easy to take the puck they must laugh about it

This is my favourite, although i am against cruelty towards animals, and Toby!

Sounds like I missed a good game but you were right on players possibly getting hurt in California and got your Buf vs Burns question answered.

You are right on about California having the big boys and sounds like Armia and Morrisey are consistent game in and game out.

6 pts out of 8 so far for! Thanks for the recap guys!

Real dumb penalty on buff
- bennythehat

Special mention on this quote from Benny, why does this not surprise me?? But Buf redeems himself in OT? Fine "real time" game recap from all posters! I didn't even have to read the Sun to know what happened! Back to work.

One last post because I need to leave this site before I get fired, but just commenting on the Burns vs Buf thing. It is interesting because Burns was drafted same year as Buf at #20 by Minny, and Buf 245 by Chicago. Getzlaf is in the first round, so is Perry, there are a lot of players from that first round still active. After first round, the active players drop off big time with a smattering of recognizable names here and there. Pavelski pops up at 205 in round 7, Biran Elliot and Halak in round 9, of course Toby and Buf in round 8. It alsmost seems like bookends in this draft. The active players today almost look like they were taken either in round 1 or 2, or way the heck down at 7, 8 and 9. Just a little info I thought was interesting.

Horrible game, gave up on every single battle because like I have said, he is afraid to get hit.
People are also blaming Dano on sharks second goal, I blame buff, watch it again, that goal is on buff
Anyone else catch one of Myers classic il timed line changes that resulted in a half break away? I swear he does that far too often.

Hey I'm very happy we scored in OT, buff was not trying to pass the puck there, he was once again showing us one of his famous "no chance wrap arounds". I wouldn't say buff beat burns on that play, I'd say little beat his man and drove hard to the net expecting buff to be three feet wide on his attempt lol

It was definitely not a pass. If Little has not cashed in, it could have been a 2 on 1 the other way, with Buff 50 feet behind the play.

Buff was on the ice for all 4 Sharks goals.
