As sad as it is, every coach has his favs. It’s probably easier in the room to sit a young guy then a vet. It’s bullsh!t in my opinion but it’s reality. |

Man the first PP unit is legit with Horvat healthy again. Sedins with the kids is a perfect balance of playmaking and scoring. Imagine that PP with a legit point threat instead of Edler...drool. Edler has been playing pretty well outside of that terrible giveaway the other night, but he’s not a PP1 dman.
Nice to see Eriksson finally do something. Vanek is a beast at home. His local cocaine dealer has the good poop.
Brock
I agree with Don, Virtanen looks lost again and needs to go to the AHL. Disappointing after he showed some promising glimpses to start the season. Seeing Ehlers flying again tonight is just salt in the wound.
Hopefully whoever was responsible for that pick will learn a lesson. Ignore passports when drafting and draft high skill/speed/IQ when you’re drafting 6th overall. More EP type picks and then draft guys like Gadjovich/Lind/Gaudette in rounds 2 through 5 if you want some sandpaper.
Kings really miss Carter, man did they struggle to create offense. - Nucker101
So... no to tchunck with pick number 3 then? |

Go sit on a dune and think about what you've said. You should be ashamed of yourself, you're a bad lefty. |

What....he's a great player, so he's an bumhole, so what. As long as he doesn't pull hair or bite players I could care less. Players who play physical cross the line on occasion.
I'd rather him score 80 points than a team full of creampuff 50 point players. |

Not advocating one way or the other, so stick with me for a second, but let’s say you have two players. Both players are 21, first year in the league. Player A is a pure goal scorer, dynamic, fast, electric, Pavel Bure type guy, but only some of the time. Mostly he floats around, waives his stick at guys as they skate around him, and cherry picks out around centre ice even when his team is hemmed in their own end. Player B has enough skill to have gotten to this point, but he doesn’t dazzle. He is always the first one at the rink, the last one to leave, always goes into the corner hard, and almost always comes away with the puck.
When you are down a goal late in a game it sure would be nice to have your goal scoring kid going, but as the coach you know it’s just as likely he’ll cough up the puck leading to a chance against.
I’m not saying “Vets” are always the hard working guy, but most of the guys who have long careers have had them because of both their individual skill AND their preparation and “compete” level at practice and in games.
As much as I would love Jake to be a wrecking ball out there, I’ve seen too often how soft he can be |

If Jake's destined to become another Nicklas Jensen, chalk it up to experience and move on. Let him ply his trade as a career AHL player. Sorted. |
