Hyman is awesome. Fast skater, great work ethic, great defensively, chips in offensively once in a while. Love him.
(just not with Matthews, all the time ) - Steven_Seagull
Yeah, not sure I understand why Babcock would put Hyman or Komarov on the ice, when down a goal and he's already pulled the goalie.
but what do I know, I'm not the coach... |

For a 22 year old player who was stuck on the worst team in the NHL, that's hard to say. Where does this idea that he has no work ethic come from?
Worst case scenario, you trade Hyman, Duclair doesn't work out and you replace him with Kapanen. Reality is, Hyman is replaceable within the system. Best case scenario, you put another young guy, with a cheaper contract, with 20+ goal potential together with Matthews. - Unholy_Goalie
Two coaches didn’t like his work ethic. Sat out games because of it. Was just traded for Richard Panik, his older twin. |

Duclair is a scoring forward that can't score........
he sucks defensively
can't pk
he is a lottery ticket that Chicago hopes he can develop into something. Calgary did the same thing with Lazar and it did not work out. - Santo_44
And Hyman is a 3rd liner getting 1st liner minutes with 2nd line numbers. He's a dime a dozen, easily replaced player that doesn't belong on the 1st line. |

How do you know it's specifically the work ethic and how do you know that Babcock couldn't change that? That's what coaches are paid for and different coaches get different responses from different players. Babcock hated Bernier and he looks fine in Anaheim and Colorado. |

He's also the reason why most offensive plays die in his hands. He's not as bad as Pageau, but he's close. - Unholy_Goalie
Your eyes are just glued to when he makes a mistake.
ffs plays die of Matthews stick too. But hey, you have shades that go over your eyes when anything goes against what you think so...
and dude, we disagree on Pageua....do you have to be that immature that you feel like you have to bring it up again when you get disagreed with?

Babcock thinks that every scoring line needs a grinder who can "get the puck off the other team and get it to the talented guys on the line."
No, seriously - I've heard this straight from Babs' mouth. |

Only because they happen so frequently and not nearly as often as they happen for the players with actual talent he plays with. |

But what happens when the talented players already have the puck and pass it to a guy who has no idea what to do with it if he's not dumping it in the corner and going to get it again? |

He digs pucks out, works hard, is amazing along the boards, defends well and is on pace for 42+ points with no PP time. Put your Hyman hate away, he is more than fine on that line.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Leo dump the puck into the corner on a 2 - on 1 breakaway. |

Not get the puck off the team
dig pucks out along the boards and getting it to Matthews/Nylanders stick, which he does very well.
Unless of course you have the eye shades like UG does |

Also depends on what other UFAs are out there and how many teams want JVR. But if he gets less than 6 million, it's because he took a discount. He's going to ask for 6+ million and probably get it somewhere. - Unholy_Goalie
Yes that's right. .I didn't get into particulars on the contract. .5.8to6..was at 7/8 years probably? ..but with the other top six I think their need is at two defencivly minded scoring forwards? center /winger.and of course a top right dman and a solid number four! ..replacing gards ..just as an example. .Reilly/Tanev ..zaitsev/hammer with Hainsey in the bottom pairing .. |

He's a 3rd liner. It's not hate, it's reality. Brown scored more goals than him last year playing on the 4th line most of the year. It's a joke.
Bozak, for YEARS, was the Leafs 1st line center but it doesn't mean he belonged there. |

They should go to the front of net and screen the goalie/chip in any loose pucks. |

Brown also had and still has an insanely high unsustainable shooting percentage. And when he was on the Matthews line he didnt do anything.
Hyman works on that line, move on to an actual problem.
and Brown gets PP time |

Blasphemy!!!
I am 100% positive that, with the opposition goalie out, Leo would circle back to his side of center and shoot the puck down the ice for an icing call. |

Ya ..look at kadri. .I think that it was a low risk cost for Chicago. .the guys still young. .and being able to be around Toews. .and also coach Q..maybe he'll be able to get back to his 22g |
