I can already see the excuse. You can see it in the video - "well, I didn't see Johannson behind me and was cutting in and was on a direct collision course with Schneider so I tried to dive to the right to avoid any contact to the head and inadvertently did just that to JoJo."

If you watch the full clip, he fights with "JoJo" at the far blueline, and gets the puck from him.

My wild-ass-guess is he didn't like the physical contact, and was mad as he skated the length of the ice - and then saw his opportunity to take his cheap shot.

It's funny - over the years, we've all had "that guy" on our team. Talent level doesn't matter - there's always one guy who just does crazy, dirty poop for no reason whatsoever. And then in the dressing room afterwards, the guy has no franking clue that what he did was wrong or dirty - it was always justified because the other guy did this or that, and the refs were picking on him, the league is out to get him, blah blah blah.

Funny how everyone is fine with trading Kapanen but other teams should also be very interested in acquiring him in exchange for their best players.
