Goulbourne is making things happen with his limited ice time. He finishes his checks and competes every shift.

He is an improvement because he provides an element weiss doesn't. It trickles down to other players when they see his hustle instead of the vanilla play of weiss. Maybe he gives the team some more energy. In time maybe he improves and earns more ice time.

He knows why he is on this team right now.

I don't mind Ghoul being used as an impact player and playing over Weise on the 4th line, but I do find it odd that all of a sudden Lehtera is an everyday player and Weise is on popcorn duty.

And Ghoul was a top PKer for the Phantoms - so why is Lehtera suddenly being used on the PK? He has 9:50 in SH TOI for the season, and 9:27 of it came in 2018.

Why does everyone have a facination with arguing over fourth line plugs... PEB CVDV last year... DW, JL, TL, TG this year...
- dragonoffrost

Because some people just aren't happy if they're not arguing about something.

Also, it helps to pass the time.

cant answer that one. Maybe in practice he has shown some stuff and they are trying it out. No issue with it as the pk has been brutal.

Have they used ghoul on the pk yet? I am drawing a blank for some reason.

I don't think our 4th line who combines for less than 25 minutes a night is really affecting us all that much. Granted I don't understand the decision making it's also nothing I really care about. Leave that top 9 in tact with our young guys getting top 9 minutes and I'm happy
- Tfaehner

4th lines can also have a positive effect on the game as well.

I'm arguing about it cause I don't really want to get into how the Flyers handling of Sanheim shows they have a fundamentally flawed method of evaluating defensemen that will be a significant drag on the team's performance until there is a change in management.

I have no problem with Ghoul, but I don't understand your fascination with him. Honestly not trying to pick a fight, but very curious as to why you are rooting for him so much? I want him to be successful, but I also can call a spade a spade.

As to why they haven't used him on the PK, it took TK 10 games playing at nearly a PPG pace to get back to PP2. It Hak just doesn't like to try new things without serious contemplation.

what fascination?

rooting for him because he busted his ass to get where he has today. Put in the time and work. Brings a skill set this team lacks.

Would still take Frost and the extra 1st over Schenn any day. He's a good player no doubt, but he isn't a guy who makes people around him better.

Brayden also disappeared for five weeks after Schwartz went down and, even before that, went five straight without a point when the Blues ran into tight-checking games.

Couturier, far and away, has been the more consistent, less streaky of the two.

Not to mention how good Couturier is on the defensive side of things. I've always liked Schenn, thought he played hard as a Flyer, but the return they got for him was great in my opinion. Also, its not like team scoring has dropped off significantly without Schenn here.

Like Couturier, Schwartz is an extremely good 5 on 5 player who can carry a line. In the last three seasons:

100 ES points for Couturier in 176 games
98 ES points for Schenn in 208 games
93 ES points for Schwartz in 141 games
