In the context of player development, Gostisbehere's play this season especially lately is the poster child for proving that this coaching staff process is the right way to develop young players.
I remember the whining in the past when Hakstol scratched Gostisbehere.

The attendance at little Caesars seems low. Watch a lot of games where there are all kinds of empty lower bowl seats and it even seemed that way in the home opener. Not good

I don't need to pretend that Manning is better. He simply is right now. Hopefully that won't last long. Interesting that Hakstol has no issue playing Gostisbehere heavy minutes. Again, young players ice time is based on merit.

If we're talking about developing young players into better players and reaching their full potential then that's a process that takes place over time for most players. Gostisbehere hit the ground running in his initial season which was by far mostly due to his ability and puck skills but they certainly didn't just throw him out there without any guidance or coaching in terms of system play and strategy. I get what you're saying but Gostisbehere's career has been up and down.
