I am not interested in basically any deal that trades away a player or asset younger than Coots for a player older than Coots - YuenglingJagr
What if Connor McDavid hopped in his Delorean and came back next week at age 27? |

Would anyone be interested in E.Kane if buffalo took back Weiss? What would it cost? Stl 1, Conditional 2nd, Wade Allison, and Weiss.
Giroux-Couturier-Konecny
Kane-Patrick-Voracek
Weal-Filppula-Simmonds
Raffl-Laughton-Leire
I dont know.... I just think I like the idea of adding some "now" pieces to the team that can help balance the scoring. I also like the idea of putting Patrick with a very good playmaker and a good sniping winger that has grit. IMO Patrick just seems a fraction of a second behind a play or a fraction of a distance from making the right pass/shot. With time it should come, but adding guys like Voracek and Kane to his line would be awesome. - youarewrong
Personally I would not be giving up anything of note prospect or pick wise for any UFA. |

I think Kane has grown up recently. I think he fits what the Flyers need, he will not be traded for a bag of pucks aka Weise.
recently he said he wanted to stay in Buffalo but no contract was offered.
get the right package, make the trade, he is only 26 but I dont think the right package well be there. - wcorvette
So the Preds gave up a forward that was a 2nd round pick, a defenseman that was a 2nd round pick, and a 2nd round pick for Kyle Turris, a player that is signed for a long time.
So I think the package would be similiar with the exception of a 2nd round pick being a conditional pick whether he resigns or not. Weiss they would have to take more for money reasons and the fact they are getting a guarenteed 1st in a deep draft should be enough to pull that off. And Wade Allison is a 2nd round pick much like the guys going in the Turris deal.... IDK the deal seems fair both ways. |

I would rather keep Allison, but if you swapped him out with another pick or prospect I would have interest. Pretty stacked top 9 and the guy can score. But always have to consider his locker room antics / off ice issues. Perhaps he has matured but who knows.
Edit: if we get Kane I think that automatically means we can’t resign Simmer - arichardson22
Why not? I heard the cap is going up big-time. If we manage money right it shouldn't be a problem.
So I just did a bit of calculations... we could manage close to 72.6 Million if we can get away with giving Simmer and Kane 6.5 million. And that includes raises to guys like Provorov, Sanhiem, Konecny, etc. Also means letting go of Raffl for guys like Lindblom, and Rubtsov and letting go og Manning and Gudas for Morin..... |

If you mean his own teammates. On the plus side he does bring a lot of playoff experience with him.

I am not familiar with anyone saying every player developed the same way. Sometimes the different path can be a skillset that is clearly NHL ready and given chances to succeed based on the players strengths (i.e. Sergachev)
Provorov has been from day one, one of the best defensemen on the roster. Who was going to play over him? Nothing about Provorov proves that the Flyers coach is committed to developing his players.
- JFlyers00
What Provorov proves is that the narrative that the Flyers won't play young players that some posters float is pure nonsense. Provorov and other young players earn ice time based on merit.
None of this is about Brandon Manning being more talented than Travis Sanheim. There isn't a world where he is (well, maybe a flat one) It is about the coach being more comfortable playing the "safer" Brandon Manning and favoring guys that play the way he does over guys that play the way Sanheim does. Call a spade a spade, don't pretend Manning is better.
ftfy - JFlyers00
I don't need to pretend that Manning is better. He simply is right now. Hopefully that won't last long. Interesting that Hakstol has no issue playing Gostisbehere heavy minutes. Again, young players ice time is based on merit. |

I used to be a Evander Kane supporter in the early years of his career but since then everywhere hes been he has left a longer slug trail than a $5 hooker. |

There is no way the Flyers made the right decision. They have a serious issue with how they evaluate pro level talent! |

I think he has calmed down recently, no? I can't remember the last issue he had. And if that lowers the price on him, so be it. - youarewrong
he got into a fight with a teammate at practice a few weeks ago. not sure who started it though. |

I miss Richards sometimes , was a great player for the O&B. Where do you guys think he stands all time for Flyers captains? One of the best? |

Well he's definitely after Clarke and Poulin. I'd put him after Lindros and Brind'Amour as well. I'd probably put him around Kevin Dineen and Keith Primeau. But for a short time, he seemed like Bobby Clarke reincarnated. I miss that player. |

I'd go with this:
Clarke
Poulin
Lindros
Richards
Primeau
Brindy
Giroux
Don't see a lot of players, give it their all and play with the heart he played with. Giroux also could easily jump to second on this list depending on the remainder of his career. |

I think Brindy was a much better give it their all guy. Richards had a lot of games that he coasted through, probably because of the toll his style took on his body. Also, if we're taking off-ice issues into account, he's definitely behind Primeau, Brindy, and Dineen. |
