We've been saying this every year, but outside of the Kesler trade that Benning was forced to mistake, he hasn't acquired one and to be fair, he hasn't really had the assets to acquire one. Realistically you can hope for a 2nd from a Gudbranson deal and a mid round pick from Vanek, but that's about it. And that's assuming that the Canucks actually want picks and not prospects.

They targeted prospects at the TDL last year.

I had no takers on my Tanev and Virtanen for Barzal proposal last season. Was told that would be a way over payment for him. I wonder, would people reconsider now?

Lou got one for what Franson and...winnik? I can't remember the other piece, but it was not a better pair of guys than EG and Vanek IMO. I agree you or I wouldn't pay that price, but in a market where you have pressure to compete and make the playoffs against teams that are also making moves... dare to dream Nucker!
