i just think the price is going to be too high. - Tumbleweed
And that's the beauty of the Wedgie Plan - it's just money.
We give them a a shoddy bomb casing full of used pinball machine parts for Karlsson.
It doesn't hurt our on-ice product.
And then Bell signs a stoopid arena naming-rights deal for the new arena.
Let's say in the real world it's worth $500 million. So Bell kicks in $600 million instead.
Melnyk is happy - he's just funneled $100 million into his pocket.
Bell's (hopefully) happy - they'll make back their $100 million this year by going two extra playoff rounds.
NHL turns a blind eye, because it brings stability to the Ottawa franchise - and other teams know to STFU, because it's the Leafs circumventing the cap, and since they are the cash cows of the league, the other owners owe them this solid.
Holy frank, Wedgie is a genius. |

Can't wait to read Garf's blog where he promises they are both signing with Buffalo. |

But who is going to proclaim them winning 5 Stanley cups.
My money is on doughty. The rest seem to quiet.
I also picture Tavares as an awkward dancer. |

If you were a nuclear technician, working at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant on April 26th, 1986, and management told you they have worked out a deal to trade you - all they need is your permission - do you bother to ask, "Where?" - Atomic Wedgie
Ahem! What do you mean "if"?
But to answer your question, I would personally prefer the possibility of a Chernobyl-ish atomic wedgie to be performed at an alternate location. But I can't speak for Karlsson nor his wonderful, flowing hair with slightly nefarious mustache. |

you could get Karlsson for 2 playoff runs..then not re-sign him.. you can debate what thats worth to give up. But he basically dragged the Sens to the conference Finals. A poopty team
But yes he is not good enough for the Leafs - senstroll
You're mistaking Karlsson for Anderson. |

Can it be both? Seriously though, Karlsson was an absolute monster during that playoff run - as was Anderson. |

He was, at best, their 3rd best player. Anderson was phenomenal and Mark Stone was great.
Ottawa was outplayed pretty much every game. Anderson was the only reason they won games. |

What? That's not the core, age has nothing to do with it. The core is who you chose to build around, who you lean on the most in your games. - burn
i dont think you know what i mean here.....mathews and company are not ready to win the whole thing. so why hold on to ufas that wont be usefull by the time we are ready to run at the cup. |

if ya look at tampas payroll the core is all around the age of 27. the age statistically speaking a player is at its best. if mathews and company are the future. which they are. realistically the wont be making a real run at the cup for a few years. so why not make the team better for the future by adding to them by getting what you can for assets your not gonna have for when your really gonna have a chance to win the whole thing. anyone who doesnt believe we can win it all should be in support of letting the ufas go. even if it hurts in the short term |

You just called bozak et al the core, now you're saying should trade them?
Matthews nylander marner rielly ect are the core, not the vets like bozak and jvr.
The core is the group you want to build around, the group you count on to produce the most.
Age has nothi g to do with who the core is. |
