His value is not dropping that much if at all. Teams knew who Kane was, and this season does nothing to change that mindset. At this point, his trade value exceeds the value of services rendered by far, especially if the conversation of a 7 year contract is realistic. He needs to be traded.

It stands to reason that if he were as hot as Jack right now, Kane's value would be super high, however, it also stands to reason that his cold spell hasn't relegated him to has been status. He's still the #1 rental on the market and we will get a nice return. Step away from the ledge. Trust the process.

I agree. I just don't think that the return will be any better or worse at the deadline than it is now. The only thing that would change that (for worse) is injury.

Sounds to me like a number of players when they are closer to a new contract than not. They tend to play above their career average.

These guys were saying kane was the best guy on the sabres and nicknamed eichel "clank". Let's trade risto group.

Eichel and Risto are the only 2 bright spots on the current roster, but they take all the greif.

That's whats important, not 173 goals over parts of 9 nhl seasons.

You're excluding previous sample size, i am not. Both of these things are true:

- He has scored a lot in the past 18 months

- he averages under 20 goals and 18 assists per year.

Does a GM base a trade on 18 months, or 8 years? Probably 18 months, but they're foolish to do so

I forgot where I saw it, but the best idea I ever saw for a playoff format was top 16 make the playoffs. Top seed picks its opponent. Then the second seed, and then so on and so forth.
