I think the only person who expected him to be worth a 6th overall pick in that draft was Conte. Thankfully he no longer works here. Probably got better value in the last two drafts than we did in the previous ten drafts combined.

Well this team is in a free fall. First off your 5v5 info is way off. In the 10 games before tonight we were outscored 24-18 5v5, add tonight and it 27-18 (-9). We have 9 forwards during that time that are minus players, Palmieri and Johannson are -6 each. On D Santini is even and he is sitting while Severson, Butcher and Green are a combined -14. SO THAT IS poopTY 5v5 PLAY IN MY BOOK SO SCRAP THE CORSI RATING!

Players are not scoring that need to: Nico, Jesper, Hall and Johannson have 34 points while all other players have 23 and 13 of those have come from Zajac (no points last 4, 5 in previous 6), Palmieri and Wood. Zacha 1 point in 10 games, Boyle 1 point in 10 games.

The D had held their own with 6 goals and 19 assists, led by Vatanen has 9 points and is a +1, Moore has 4 points and a plus 3. Butcher, Greene and Severson though have killed us defensively with a -14 combined rating while Santini sits on the sidelines.

The biggest killer is Schneider. Over his last 6 games before tonight he has one win and gave up 4 plus goals 5 times. 22 goals in total over the six games. He has done this all year, good then bad routine. We need a goalie who can step up and rely on. His rebound control is horrible.

So unless we turn it around in the next 10 games and go 7-3 or 8-2, we are going to be F@@@@@@!

Really bag? I did my homework. I double checked on wings blog and nothing so I checked jersey blog. Others had music man starting but figured since this bag had Howard listed he must have the info. Definitely my fault.

Saving grace is that seemingly every Metro team other than Philly has been pretty inconsistent the last few weeks as well.

Have won two of our last ten and are still in second.

That said...need to start winning consistently or that won't hold up.

He looked particularly good last night, but it very much was the story of his season so far. Gets good looks but really struggles to finish.

He gets crapped on a lot because he went 6th overall ahead of guys like Provorov, Werenski, and Barzal (who Todd specifically really wanted the Devils to draft). He has been playing well and is only 20 years old still. I have decent faith he'll end up being a very solid player for us, but probably never as good as people would hope a 6th overall pick is. But to be fair people forget how relatively common it is for top 10 picks to end up being solid-but-not great players, if even that.

He's played better, still don't know if I'd call it good. His play has been fine for a depth player but its not good enough to really push anyone down the lineup besides Zajac, which is a pretty low bar to set.

They’ve been playing over their heads all season, we were never not DOOMED.
