William Nylander for Wayne Simmonds straight-up, no $$ retained.
Would you? - jmatchett383
Yes but Leafs would be dumber than a sack of rocks to do that, IMHO. |

heart and soul guy for sure, it would have to be an overwhelming offer. Simmonds needs to get a real good contract but I think he will give the Flyers a hometown discount, he does you have to resign him
another note, they could lose to the Wings tonight, the sky will not be falling, just that close of a league - wcorvette
I think the 'hometown' discount won't be a factor. It's his last chance at getting a big contract, and he's been underpaid based on market value for about 3 years. |

If I’m Hexy around the TDL, I’m listening to offers on Filp, Amac, Manning, Gudas, and would start the engine fof the Wayne Train. Filp should be traded no matter what (imo). If someone offers anything for Amac or Manning, take it. If we are out of playoffs, Gudas and Simmonds. - arichardson22
Even though I said I don't know if the Flyers make the playoffs, I don't know if I'm trading Flip right now just to get a mid round pick. I think fighting for a playoff spot and not getting it is better than getting a mid round pick. Flyer's have stocked up on their mid round picks in recent history, getting one more doesn't really help them in my opinion.
It's time to start pushing this thing forward to the next goal, making the playoffs. |

again same Hextall approach, it has to be overwhelming or no go. I agree with the approach but if you can fill your biggest need you do it, big scoring winger. That slots Lindbolm and maybe an Allison into a 3rd line role, that is when we know we have a contending team, lol
agree Simmonds does derserve to get paid |

I mainly think we should trade him bc of his expiring contract and that he doesn’t really impact our future plans. Mid round pick could be used for another trade, whether it’s for a player, prospect or moving up in the upcoming draft. Hell, offer the mid round pick with Amac and maybe someone will bite

If I'm trading Simmonds, I don't want "market value" for him. I don't think there are more than maybe 2-3 players in the league, if that, who can bring what he can as a whole package. So I want an overpayment, and I want NHL players, not a pick/prospect package. Nylander is one of a handful of players I'd accept, personally. |

Cant believe I am going to say this, there is no need to trade McD now that the cap is not an issue, unless it makes sense, not a dump

It absolutely matters after we acquire Karlsson
Edit: on a serious note, I’m not worried about cap necessarily. I’m more worried about having another roster jam next training camp for Sanheim, Morin, Myers. |

It would help. But remember than Provorov also needs an extension, as will Konecny. |

This is the big issue. Everyone is screaming about Sanheim's handling this year what happens if they get Karlsson? |

Agree.
I need to get at least a 3rd or more to move him IF they are in a playoff position. Right now he takes some pressure off Patrick.
With some of the things I have read about what Montreal could get for Pacioretty I would almost be foolish not to see what Simmonds could get you. Even if it is a little less the Pacioretty. |

I understand where you are coming from. But, I think that's trading for the sake of trading, and at some point you have to move forward with your plans. You can't just keep acquiring assets. |

True but with the CAP going up and probably will continue it really gives Hextall options, add in other teams know Hextall wont be desperate and maybe Hex can make some good trades, clear out McD and Manning. I do think Manning will be moved this year

After they get Karlsson, it won't matter because Sanheim is with Ottawa. And forget about having to decide on Simmonds as well. |

they should be more interested in trading to fill needs, they have 10 picks in the draft again. |

I don't want Karlsson.
He's going to need to get paid. Provorov is going to need a big contract. I think the defense is coming along and will eventually be a sold collection of talents so not to have to just rely on one guy back there. |

Manning is a UFA end of this year. He's played well enough that he'll find a job next season in the NHL. I hope it's not here (not because I dislike him, but he's part of the logjam), and I don't think it will be. It would be nice to move him out at the TDL, too. That's more to create a spot for Sanheim to play regularly.

He's Bellemare. Everyone loves to trash him but he is a legit NHL player. Once he's gone he'll play fine for another team and everyone will realize it. |

agree,
crazy, but I hope Alt gets some playing time, he is 6'4' I think, can skate ok and plays a heavy game. Manning is tougher than SanHeim, if tough is what you need, I like ti see Alt get some sort of chance

i think he is a 6th D on an average team, maybe pull a 3rd or 4th pick.
