I like the way Alt played when he was up. He moved the puck and punished the other team on the boards, dare I say, when possible, sit Manning and play Alt

Congrats to Philly sports fans on what was a very good weekend for the city, good vibes all around town I would imagine. Very pleased myself to see the Flyers turn things around after a flat start to the week against the NYR. G, Jake, Coots, Ghost combined for what, 4-5 points all week long yet we come away with a 3-1 record. Torn between TK or Neuvy for the weeks MVP.

Neuvirth deserved 1st star honors against Toronto, same with Elliott yesterday. But TK has been playing well since being given a chance.

That is a very encouraging sign, to me. It's great when you can get your role players to step up when needed.

TK has 10 points in his last 11 games. In his previous 36 games, he had 10 points. He's had some puck luck (shooting 16% in last 10 games), but it shows you what he is capable of when he plays with other talented skaters.

Reading between the lines...I think the fact that Sanheim was here for so long means Hextall would prefer he play here

TK has done a very good job using his speed to get ahead of plays setting up odd man rushes but also has done well with the puck to skate into open ice in the offensive zone looking for teammates by the net or opening space for a shot on goal like in OT yesterday afternoon.

I figure that he needs to play and if Morin is out again, the Phantoms are short. Let him play in LHV and let Morin rest. I seem to recall Sam quietly having that same surgery that G and Ghost had the same summer. Patrick has on going problems from his 2 surgeries, maybe Morin has a similar situation.

Would all be even better if Simmonds was playing like his usual self all year too.

Attention Eagles fans:

Since God hates me:

In 2008, the first and only time we’ve had a sports championship parade in Philly that I was alive for, I wasn’t able to go due to my best friend's father's funeral service.

So, since my wife is due with our son within the next 2 weeks, here’s what I see happening: 15 minutes before kickoff, my wife will go into labor. I will not be able to watch a second of the Super Bowl, which the Eagles will win. Then, I will not be able to attend the parade due to having a 2-day-old baby.

So, you’re all welcome for me winning the Eagles the Super Bowl.

Simmer has 16 goals and 13 assists trough 47 games. He is pretty much on the same pace as every year. He has been stapled to Patrick all year. Now that Nolan is playing better, Simmer is also looking better. He and Weal have both been dinged a bit and now are moving better with better results. All three had goals this week.

I agree with this. It is the right move the kid needs to play regardless of where it is but I'm sure Hextall hoped he would stick with the big club so he doesn't have to go into next years camp with Myers, Morin, and Sanheim all knocking on the door but not everyone will be allowed to come in.

I wasn’t taking away from his recent play nor discrediting his production. Just saying he didn’t look like himself for parts of this season. He’s been picking up lately I was referring to mainly earlier in season when as a team we really struggled

My father passed away after a long battle with cancer approximately five hours after the Phillies won the World Series in 2008. I didnt see a single inning of the Series, and it wasnt until Christmas when I was gifted the box set of the 2008 World Series on DVD (plus the last 2 games vs the Dodgers!) that I got to see the Phils win it all.

So, I can relate, and I thank you for your contributions to the worthy cause of bringing another championship to the Philly area. You are a good man and a true humanitarian. I salute you.

I was in college in 08 and had to turn a paper in that day. The professor's office hours were 8am-10am. I got to her office early and waited for her. She got there, I turned in my paper and told her wasn't going to be in class.

Went into Philly, but by that time it was too late. I took a bus to 69th street, then the L to CC. It took me 45 mins to get out of the train station. Got to see the parade, but was so far away, all my friends had gotten there at 6am.

Yeah, by the time I left the parlor in South Jersey and got to the train station, the line was literally out the door of the station (the parade, not the train station). So I went home and watched it on TV. Still, it would be cool to go to one. I did tell my wife that, if it was the Flyers, I'd be watching the game and going to the parade no matter what. Priorities.

Also, Doc, sorry to hear that.
