You're right. But that's not what McD did earlier in the period. He got the puck with time and could have waited a bit, but he fired a weak wrist shot from the point, with no traffic that the goalie easily deflected to the corner to his defensemen and the Caps got an easy out.

AND -- to give credit to Manning, he actually did just that later in the period. He waited and took a slap shot with traffic in front. That was a good play, but he doesn't always do that.

Luke Schenn was a master at the panic muffin shot from the point. Why did he panic? Because he doesn't have the skill to pull a head fake or do something else to create time and space. Nor does he have the skill to change the angle on a defenseman to give himself an outlet for a quick pass or a smart end around dump in. Pressure, panic, shot. Then what? It goes wide and then goes the other way or it's an easy save for the goalie and a whistle.

Glad we have Manning, MacDonald (who imo is guilty the least out of the big bad 3) and ESPECIALLY Hagg.

It's no secret that skill on the back end would produce offense that this team needs in this division. Enter: Sanhiem. Alas.

Sanhiem will be better (or at the very least comparable) at his peak offensively but Provorov is a complete package that not a lot of Dmen in the NHL will compare with within 5 years

Back in W Philly there was an actual pimp mobile driven by a black guy that wore purple, blue, and red suits with matching fedoras and shoes. His car was covered with metal objects of various shapes and sizes. Like big hood ornaments.

Car itself was a Caddie car (not an Escalade) that was really dark maroon and of course sat super low with spinner rims.
