MINUS: Cody Franson had the highest Corsi-For Rating relative to the quality of competition he faced in the NHL, and still no one took him. It is pathetic how much group-think there is in the NHL. There really is no good way to explain 31 teams passing on a player who, by any measurement we have to track hockey players, is excellent. Beyond that, he’s right handed, which only approximately 35% of defenseman are.

I'm a little surprised no one took him just as depth, especially being a righty, but at this point he's no more than a 12 minutes a night guy. Effective in those minutes, sure, but anymore than that and he starts to breakdown badly. He just doesn't have the foot speed. If he was merely "slow" I'm sure a few teams would've put in a claim, but he is glacial.

Really amazing how clueless this guy is. Tanner .... Tanner ... Franson is useless. Now he's the shining example of how useless these new stats are. So I guess he is good for something. Corsi means nothing.

I seem to share your taste in movies. If you get a chance watch "Good Time" with Robert Pattinson, amazing film. And not to be contrary, but Roberto Alomar is the best Blue Jay of all time.

The fact that you think Bautista leaving the Jays is a bad thing means you're (frank)ing clueless when it comes to baseball, and it is imperative that you acknowledge this information. You go on a solid rant about how under rated Franson is, using stats, but apparently refuse to look at stats regarding Bautista, who last season, was below replacement level in every aspect of Major League Baseball, and the team without him now, will be more likely to succeed. I have to disagree with your Olympic comments. Sure there is some corrupt activity happening, but these are serious athletes. Some devote their entire young life to their sport, making minimal salary. And there you are, not even understanding their sport, yet have a platform to critize and impugne their talent and a lifetime of training. Get over yourself. Use your platform for good. You don't have to like a sport you don't know. But then don't mock it and unjustly declare they are not sports.

What?!?!?!? I respected your movie choices before because it seemed like you were a Back to the Future fan (as we all should be), but this choice is ridiculous!

I've read the series and was really looking forward to the film. I'm not a "the book was better" guy because they're different mediums and, in general, telling the same story in film as a book would take about a 12 hour miniseries. But this movie was awful. There was no buildup, his training looked easier than high school training camp, and after 18 months since he's picked up a gun he's beetr than all of the trained army guys we have? Movie should be under sci-fi...

And why is everybody up in arms about Kid Rock? I'm not a fan of his, but he did the halftime show at some footbal even like 5 years ago and wasn't too bad. Didn't the NHL have 5 for Fighting and Drake perform in the past? I mean the bar is already set pretty low. I can't believe this is garnering anything more than an informative mention.
