Everybody has games in hand on us too.
I appreciate Rutherford being patient and I'm sure prices are sky high, but this lineup is not good enough. If he's going to make a move he needs to do it quickly. - madmike71
Reading & trying to understand what he said in that article I linked last week, I think he's shopping but the prices are too high. Everybody is wanting the same thing either a Dman or C. JR has a Dman to sell but I doubt he has enough for what he wants - supply & demand.
Is he willing to pay overs & what will that involve? |

Jean-Gabriel Pageau might be a target.
I would also look at Galchenyuk and Gallagher |

Not sure what the Sens are waiting for but sounds like there may already be an offer on the table from 'someone' plus the Pens are linked. May need a few more losses for some reason. You would think they would be looking for Dahlin now (or very shortly).
If I'm a betting man, I put your money on the Pens being the team that have put an offer on the table. |

Do we need to mention that Sprong is sitting while Reaves continues to get a jersey? Makes even less sense than sitting Sprong for Dea - Amanion
If Sprong is competing with Reaves for 4RW, how much difference is he going to make? Once Sully decided Simon and Sheary were better optiins with Sid, there was no spot for Spring as he isn't replacing Kessel or Hornqvist. With Hags playing well and Sully seeming to like Simon more (at least today) he isn't one of our top 9 forwards, especially since he wasn't even generating shots, his main strength. |

Having said that, I'd like to see Sprong back in. I'm not touching the Malkin line which has 7 goals in it's past 6 games.
That 3rd line wasn't doing anything and they need to get Jake going not to mention Kessel wasn't getting anything there (line had 1 goal with 3 offensive players), but at least they were rolling 4. But most of the scoring came from the PP and Geno' s line.
Sprong has to do more if he wants to be in the line-up. |

Trading a wing for a center makes a ton of sense. Still think Sheary for a 3C and plug Sprong back next to Crosby is the way to go. |

Not one of the teams chasing the Pens has more than 2 games this week, same as the Pens, so..... we we will know nothing, Islanders (Mon - Thurs) Penguins Flyers Rangers Hurricanes (Tues-Thurs) won't know anything till the week of February 4-10 when Pens only have 2 games in 7 days. |

It’s not the worst idea and Sheary is likely their best piece in obtaining a center.

Was it 75s fault the Pens only scored one goal? - Thorny
Don't do that....
It was a good blog |

Sheary + Cole + Prospect or Pick should net us a good thing |

Why does the 4th line have to be AHL caliber talent? |

It doesn't. Just saying that if the only way Sprong can get in is on the 4th line, how valuable is he? Is him playing on a line with Dea and Kuhnhackl suddenly going to make it dangerous? |

Can’t day I agree with this logic. You don’t want players playing a role or position that doesn’t play to their strengths. |

Possibly. I’m not sure what Cole can garner due to him being a rental. |
