Nash couldn’t skate through that high stick? Doesn’t matter anyway, they won’t do anything with it, this game is done

Rangers stopped going to the net and that’s all the Kings have done but hey we have a coach that can fix that right, he’s good with adjustments

I'm not disagreeing that AV needs to go, but 6 PIM in 10 minutes usually doesn't help your shots for/against

The Smith penalty at the end of the 1st was the turning point for the Kings should they win this game.
But there was a complete difference in their offensive game after the first 12:00 to 15:00, when there were 2 or 3 forwards going to the net, to earn them their 2-0 initial lead.
Then why did it all of a sudden stop as far as that hard forechecking, and offensive zone pressure?
It was likely due to the coaching staff again telling them to ease up with their offensive pressure, so they would not make any mistakes.
What else is the reason why this team has scored 2 GOALS OR FEWER IN 21 OF 47 GAMES prior to this one?
Outside of Shatty playing the entire season injured, and Kreider out from a few weeks ago for the remainder of the season, they had been relatively injury free, until very recently.
IF DARRYL SUTTER WAS REPLACED, despite also WINNING A CUP for the Kings, THEN A.V. CAN & MUST BE AS WELL, along with Arniel and Ruff.

Smith is a f'n disaster - and this is probably one of his better games

Brenden Smith is garbage and we should have never resigned him but that’s another terrible decision by the front office when it comes to the D

Mcdonagh won’t score a goal this season, outside of Hank and Buchnevich the entire team is an utter nightmare

We’ve been owned by this Kings team and every time they’re in LA is a reminder of that failure of a team that was led by Nash, blowing leads and choking in OT, just rid everyone that was in that team

The Kings out shot the Rangers 15-6 in the 2nd, for a 22-12 total after the 2nd.
Ranger penalties or no penalties, this team stopped going for it offensively with 8:00 to 10:00 remaining in the 1st when ahead 2-0.
Should they go on & lose this game, with Hank having choice words again on A.V. after the loss to the Avs yesterday, I'm sure he will have much more to express against him after this game.
In saying yesterday that the Rangers "HAD TO GO FOR the win", there must have been something he knows that A.V. & CO. said to the players as to why they appeared not to force the issue offensively.
Those words in, "HAD TO GO FOR", imply to me that their plan was to play it safe, and to simply waitto capitalize on Avs mistakes only, (IF THE AVS WOULD INDEED MAKE ANY), as opposed to Hank's words, which I feel were used to awake A.V.

That should have been a major. Right to the head of Smith
- mdw7413

I also felt that way on that hit absorbed by Smith in the 1st.
It will be interesting to see if the NHL reviews that hit for possible disciplinary action. That especially so after Cogliano (of Anaheim), had just been suspended questionably this past week, despite him having no prior record at all, which ended his NHL leading, consecutive games played streak.

Don't leave yet, tom.
Can't you wait until A.V. orders the team to start pressing for a possible tying goal in the last minute of the game?

We've seen that movie before. Av pulls the goalie as opposing team gains possession. They score and the game ends.

There's 2:12 left A.V. Why aren't you using timeout with a face off deep in the Kings zone?
Oh, I know why. You are waiting until there are 10 seconds left, so that Arniel can set up his DREAM PLAY, provided you get that chance again.

It will be 90 degrees in N.Y. Monday, because A.V. used his timeout 1:00 ahead of expected with 1:10 left in the 3rd, instead of with 10 seconds only left!

Injuries hit at the wrong time, but bc of the slow start were not going to be able to hang around much longer. Nash/Grabs/Holden should all be gone by the deadline and McD depending on the return.

A.V. ... A.V ... A.V.
Nice knowing you think NHL hockey is a 12:00 game only!!

*Now 7-11-2 in 20 ROAD GAMES, with ONLY 2 REGULATION TIME ROAD WINS!

*NOW 2 GOALS OR FEWER SCORED IN 22 OF 48 GAMES THIS SEASON.
*Of the 24 LOSSES, the 17th LOSS when scoring 2 or Fewer Goals, (+ 5 wins).
*2 OR FEWER GOALS SCORED IN LAST 8 LOSSES, & 11 OF LAST 12 LOSSES.

**Technically record wise, they have lost 11 Games overall by 1 Goal, including any Empty Net Goals Allowed with the goalie pulled late for the extra skater.
HOWEVER:
***When BOTH, Scoring 2 Or Fewer Goals, & NOT INCLUDING the Opposition's Empty Net Goals Scored against them when the goaltender is pulled, they have IN EFFECT, LOST 12 GAMES BY 1 GOAL when scoring 2 Goals Or Fewer.

Their lack of offense in key situations is as big of a killer as their defensive game has been, with their defensive game issues due in part to their horrific offense at times as well, & MAYBE EVEN MUCH GREATER THAN WE THINK.

Let me start by stating that I have been a big Rick Nash fan. However, this game should be viewed as exhibit A as to why he should not be re-signed for next season and beyond. Tonites game was very similar to playoff type hockey. At this stage of his career, Nash just doesn't show up when the going gets rough, nasty and physical. He really didn't do much tonite and its reasonable to believe this is what he will be in the playoffs. Trade him now for best offer and move on...

Just another game in LA where the bright lights wither him away to nothingness
