I stayed up for the game last night and saw the Dougay comment being made live. It was a poor choice of words, but he was discussing the poor performance of the refs, and their missed and inconsistent calls from the game. It was an anti-ref comment, not anti-women.
The funny part was Vally's reaction...
I hope we don't lose Dougay over this, I like what he adds to the broadcast.

The Rangers have officially passed the Coyotes as the league's worst 5v5 shot attempts against per 60 team, and Minnesota as the league's worst 5v5 CF% team.
- KreiderBomb

That's reason alone why A.V., Arniel, and even Ruff must all go, and why their goalies face over 35 SOG, among over 70 Shot Attempts per game in so many games. Their system is holding the players back, with no better proof than last night's game, after they had dictated the action for the first 12:00, and ALL their lines SUDDENLY stopped with the hard fore checking and more. That was all likely due to the coaching staff's change to a "prevent" type A.V. system of failure.
It's also why they have SCORED ONLY 2 GOALS OR FEWER in 22 of 48 games already, with losing in 17 of their 24 losses, when tallying 2 Goals For Or Fewer.
Even worse, when NOT INCLUDING the opposition's Empty Netters scored, when Scoring 2 or Fewer Goals, they have alone, (IN EFFECT), lost 11 of those 17 games by just 1 goal.
That last fact above, despite all of their final scores dictating they have lost 11 games overall for the season by 1 goal, no matter how many goals they score & if shutout.

When you're watching a team that isn't good but get wins every now and then because of the goalie.*

Who first is going to comprise the new coaching staff next season?
If they do not decide soon, then for any player "SOLD", they should only demand draft picks in return for now, because A.V. isn't going to put up with coaching a very young team anyway in a rebuild. Their current .500% of wins is only that high due 90% to Hank.
Their roster for next season and beyond, must be constructed only under a new coaching staff, and possibly even a new GM. It is apparent that this staff does not get the best out of most of its players, due to the ways they are used (or misused). With the exception of his and his team's poor 3-7-2 start, had any 2nd tier half, NHL goalie been here instead of Hank (in starting 40 of 48 games), we would likely have the worst record in the league thus far this season.

It kills me to say this, but I'm on board with this, and it's not even entirely his play. I just don't think he's the captain this team needs, and it would completely classless for them to strip him of those duties. I think parting ways while he has value and some juice left in the tank for a big payday would be the best case scenario for both parties.

If the Rangers get a second 1st round pick this, year I'd be for it. He's a d-man and he's right handed.

Plus the WHL is widely reviewed as most pro ready CHL league.

This is a dog-shit draft. Lots of defenseman though, so that's a good thing for teams like the Islanders.

Still think if they do anything it will be before the draft. It would have to be an incredible offer for them to trade him during the season this year

Brooks thinks Nylander for McD is fair.... Not sure what he's been snorting... Maybe a late 1st round, or a second rounder...

All this "trade or sell off now" talk is worthless. James Dolan is not going to allow Jeff Gorton and Co. to sell this early, despite how poor the team may appear in reality to some here. That's especially the case when his even bigger MSG tenant in the Knicks, appear even less likely to reach the NBA postseason once again. The income lost for Dolan in not having the Rangers (or Knicks) in the postseason is much more than the average hockey fan thinks, even for only a Round 1 exit.
The move that Gorton must make FIRST is to bring in a new coaching staff by the conclusion of the All Star Break the latest, and see how the players will respond. Then if they appear out of it come mid February, they can begin selling, when the prices for a McDonagh, Nash, or whoever else, will likely be even higher for some players. Otherwise, no serious reconstruction of this roster should be made under the guidance of this current coaching staff, which led by A.V., players appear not able to utilize their strengths and skills to their maximum extent. And that would be even on a lower scale, should any rebuilding for YOUTH be acquired, in knowing A.V.'s history with that category.

I mean if they are clearly out of it at the deadline it would be stupid not to, the return would be so much better if the team getting him gets two playoff runs with him

expect something maybe a little better than the Yandle trade if we did it

Why do you feel that "Brooks must be snorting something", as to his feeling that McDonagh to the Leafs for Nylander is a fair exchange?
It requires something to get something. Holding on to McDonagh very close to the deadline will return a better exchange than right now.
At one time, the Rangers made their worst trade in history in trading a young promising, second NHL season player in Rick Middleton (46 G & 44 A in 124 Rangers games), for a washed up and aged, Ken Hodge, (who lasted only 2 seasons here with 23 G & 45 A in 96 games). That was all because Phil Esposito wanted desperately for HIS NEEDS for them to acquire his ex Boston line mate to be on his line again. That was the demand Boston wanted, and the Rangers stupidly agreed to it, with the rest being history that they would love to forget.
McDonagh for Nylander, should McDonagh fail in Toronto, would be only 10% as bad as that Middleton for Hodge trade for Toronto, should Marner become Rick Middleton in performance for many years here if that deal occurs.

I can't see this trade happening, due mainly to the bitter rivalry these two teams have had for decades, but there was talk of Pacioretty being discussed in heading possibly to Boston. If that trade occurs without the Bruins having to deal any key roster player, they may likely become the favorite to win the Eastern Conference. That would be even more so if he were to play on a line with Krecji.
