Hey Scott - touched on some of this recently.

I've heard Q was going to be the fall guy if the team didnt make a run in the playoff this year. So, if they miss the playoffs, I would think he's gone. I think they may even just mutaully part ways.

Think Stan is staying. Chicago letting Q go will be enough of a shock to this team - players amd optically (their not just firing an Assistant this time).

RE: Scouting, the Hawks employ more scouts than most and pay some of them really well. They have some great guys in place and their scouting across the pond has really bailed them out over the years in terms of FA (Niemi, Raanta, Panarin) so I think they're happy with Mark Kelley and his as army. With that being said, if by chance the Hawks clean house, the new regime might want to bring in their own scouts.

Thanks, but didn't need the snark as I said I understand why he is still top man on this team.

Do appreciate the info on why he is still considered that, in general, by you.

no snark intended at all..i missed your final comment in the initial point; could have responded differently...

They have done it without real high draft picks in recent years.

hmmm..just looking at the aves schedule and it is nasty: 13 of the next 16 on the road and every game is travel...they come home for 1 game and back on the road...

it would seem they might just cool off a bit...not that it will matter much

Hey Justin. Reading all your tea leaves looks look like Stan will likely be a seller at TDL. Pick up more young assets. Out AA. Out wingles and bouma even to get a lower pick. Out 10 obviously. Seabs? Thoughts?
- glennjpawlak22

Yep. That's will be in there.

Yes to = Kempny, Franson, Bouma, Wingels, Rutta

IMO.

Sharp will retire a Hawk (this summer I believe, a la Campbell), AA could be moved dont think ot happens until 18-19 or 19-20) and Seabs is pretty untradeable - Stan will not part with a prospect or pick just to get rid of him.

I feel if they wait till the off season to replace Q that's a bad move. Your goal is to win. Leaving Q in place and this team will sink. We can all see this team is totally adrift. If they cant get rolling and I mean ROLLING in the next 10 games you have to make a change. We are not the power house of old, but with the current talent level we should make the playoffs. Period! A new HC may light a fire. A HC that says go friggin hit something. This team needs a passion infusion and quick.

Absolutely 100% in agreement but waiting 10 games will be too late. Q should be gone NOW !! These last to blow outs to weak teams like Detroit and NYI should tell management that these players have no desire to play for him any longer. What other reason could there be....and don't blame it on goaltending. ...that's a copout. Giving up 40 shots a game and buckets full of prime scoring chances should paint the picture perfectly.....not to mention the lack of quality offensive scoring chances by our team. NO COMPETE !!

This is obviously a team desparate for a change behind the bench for an infusion of life immediately. If that doesn't work, then the next step up the ladder....SB.

Unfortunately, you can't change the players because of the contracts, so Q is on his last week IMO.

No compete efforts against Tampa and Toronto should seal the deal if there's any smarts left from up top....and I don't mean Bowman.

Do the boys want to play for Q or not ??

I can't see firing your 3 cup winning coach in february. Maybe old wirtz regime would pull a classless stunt...but not this one.

I am beginning to go the other way and think he stays; SB sr could not win with this group with your star goalie out and 14 guys basically making between the league min and 1 mil many in their 1st or 2nd year.

and why is that? lets look...after the 2015 cup...

sharp: now a declining player..he and his 5 mildo cap is moved
hossa: certainly not what he was; has an off year in 2016, and rebounds in 2017 and then LTIR for 2018; now what for 2019; retire LTIR again...play??
TT: possible top 6 replacement for sharp; has to be used to move bickel and his albatross contract
saad: wants 6 mildo per...hawks can't afford that off he goes to columbus
panarin: a top 6 replacement; makes his bonus's; hawks can't afford him long term so trade for saad who is now cost controlled; but he now is having a sub par year
toews needs a lw...ok here comes saad; now he needs a RW (7 try outs there this year so far)

cap, aging, diminished performance and no replacements for sharp and hossa

ADB should be rck as should smaltz but they are here with up and down performance because there is no other choice...

hawks currently have 10 forwards making under 1 mil; 4 are rfa's and 3 are ufa's and the remaining are on ELC's and this does not include hayden

of those 10 only wingels has any winning playoff experience..

great this team got younger but not better and you can thank CC for keeping this team from being bed mates with the oil and nucks

- bogiedoc

We all knew eventually the fall out from winning three Cups would hit hard. Couple that with some bad moves by Bowman and now you see what has become of a very good team

Going forward we should expect for Bowman to draft size as in power forward. Add another whom plays tough and can be nasty at the defense position via trade. What he should do and actually could do is not guaranteed per say as mere happenstance; i totally expect that either one of these issues is not properly addresseed.

With out Corey the playoffs are a dream, Q's has blended this team into a
quagmire, no one fit's with anyone on any line. Panik has 4 assists since
being moved to Arizona.

On D no chemistry has been allowed to develop, Q's style no longer fit's the talent
on hand and vice versa the talent on hand doesn't fit Q's style. I believe the talent is
here to make the PO's with a healthy Corey but without him its time to rebuild. Heck
yes they tell us Corey will be back but without a timeline my guess is still another
4-6 weeks and in what shape does he come back?

A new HC coach is needed and more likely a new GM also, getting rid of McD should
not be discounted also.

Agree, can you trust Stan to make the right moves? Drafting smurfs all the time
doesn't work and not having a goalie in the pipeline is criminal if you ask me.
