Without a doubt...
...just painful to witness the demise. - ArlingtonRob
It’s not hard to watch the demise if it’s expected. This isn’t expected yet. Toews shouldn’t be on the downside of his career already. Age catches up to everyone. Sad thing isn’t apparently caught Toews at 28. Which should be his prime years. Seabrook should still be a solid 4. Instead he looks like he’s 39 and about to retire. |

Coach Q must go . I am not buying the core falling off a cliff at the same time , I know I may be delusional but I believe this core , other then Kane has quit on this coach for some reason . - oldduffman
LOL. This team sucks dude. Fire Q all you want. Who cares. I promise you nothing will change.
WHY is 88 still good? Because he's still good that's why. Has nothing to do with Q no more than the overpaid slugs we still have. |

This team just can't seem to tighten up on D. The glaring hole tonight being the 3rd line and that Forsling/Rutta pair.
They don't have the goaltending that can win with so many chances and shots against. This was the big red flag for me since Darling was moved. Not putting this game on the goalies, but the goals against average around 3 isn't helping.
Honestly, Seabrook just can't see to find his game, I don't know what they will do about him. Hinostroza shouldn't be in the bottom 6, he doesn't have the 2 way game for it. That whole line just couldn't prevent much of anything. Line 1 can't finish a chance despite bodies going to the net. At least that group played defense.
Not that it would have probably mattered, but the weak calls by the refs didn't help. |

I feel for Kaner...he's probably going to languish in obscurity for the next 5 years while the Hawks sink to the absolute bottom. He deserves better, kid is still elite. |

if the losses keep piling on you might see a Hawk press conference...Coach, thanks for the wonderful memories but it is really time to move on. |

he might be the best to trade, best for him as there is nothing happening here, and best return for the hawks to start the rebuild. |

Sadly, you may be right. That dude SHOULD be playing in May/June...he won't be this year. |

Forsling/Rutta pairing was a joke. Rutta was on the ice for 6 goals. Carrying 8 defensmen has been a disaster. Guys are in and out of the lineup, sometimes for no real reason and playing with different partners every game that I don't see how you can build any continuity on the blue line. You trade Hjalmarrson for Murphy and how many games has he sat out now? You resign Kempny after last season and he barely plays. Oesterle is not a number 2 defenseman. He has some nice things to his game, mostly on the offensive side, but he is never going to be a number 2 defenseman. The old saying that if you have 2 or 3 quarterbacks in football, you don't really have one kind of applies to me here. If you have 8 defensemen on your roster, then chances are you don't have 6 that can play regularly in the NHL.

I will stop watching. 88 is the only one worth a damn on the whole team. I'll become a Vegas fan. Trade Toews and Seabrook for a bag of pucks and 3/4 their cap hits in salary space. You could sign 2 UFAs this summer to do as much (probably more) than 7+19 are doing with that cap since. |

There are no examples in the history of hockey of a change making a difference?
You can't change 20 players, you change the coach. Fans will be shocked at the results if they just would make the change.

Kane is worth his contract, but unfortunately in a trade scenario its a negative.
Even if hes worth it, so few teams can fit that in to their cap structure, and if they can fit it, it almost certainly ties up the rest of their payroll/cap, and they dont want to put themselves in that situations AND give up the farm in return.
The players with the most value are 1) young 2) medium to low cap hits 3) high end production 4) have term remaining on their contract
unfortunately kane only hits 50% there, and the likely only teams that can fit him and have the assets are bottom feeders or cap conscious teams in which they either shouldnt be trading for him and/or giving up premium assets for them as they are likely in rebuilds |

so the hawks will now be down 8 pts to the stars and 5 pts to two teams...while trailing the ducks and kings by 3....holy (frank)
the bolts will be licking their chops after losing to the wild to have crack at this hot mess on ice

There was a site posted here a few days ago that showed that Nashville is actually the best-managed team in terms of the cap.

LOL change him, I don't care. The team stinks. Poor D-men, weak at center, small, soft, overpaid, and overrated. Yea put in a new coach and all of a sudden these guys will become great again. .... why is 88 so good still? Because he's good the other core guys mostly suck (save Crow who is out). |

88 and 2 would be the keepers for me. Beyond that anything can happen.
But I'm at the point where no moves would shock me...either player or front office.
The problems we're witnessing could lead to stunning moves in the next year...
...or not. |

Bottoming out would be for the best in the long run. A Top 3 pick could do wonders for this team. |
