Chances are the organisation won't resign him, & definitely won't let him go for free.

So, when will the decision be made? I would think you will get more in the off season from an organisation with deep farm system that won't be contending this year. Vegas I doubt will want to step back in their growth by giving away loads of future for Karlsson who may or may not be an elite player for too long. Which organisations can afford the Albatros that will be his next contract? I'm thinking Shero might be sniffing this one out a little.

But then when does Melnyk think he can get to the playoffs again? With 2 anchor contracts, what can be done? Does futures get it done or an NHL player of high level right now?

EK65 goes no where near Vegas. EK9 ends up in Pittsburgh for exactly what Botterill turned down.
