RNH is out, doubt they trade any C now. Costanza is still trying to save his arse & get to the playoffs.

TIOPS is reporting that Buffalo turned down an offer from the Pens for E. Kane. Anyone have any further details?

I wouldn't mind seeing him get a look on the 3rd or 4th line. With all this Reaves bashing, I wouldn't mind seeing him take his spot in the line up (even though it's doubtful they would sit Reaves). Or let Sheary take a night off and then put ZAR in his spot
- 123Kid

Could also take Kuhnhackl's spot since he kills penalties.

"This seems to be a common trait in Ryan Reaves fans yet it is also coupled with whining when their views with no evidence are challenged."

Wilson, you're losing your base. Give-up the gig; move-on. Admit Reaves > Sutter. Simply because a cheap or questionable hit occurred doesn't support your argument. Perhaps, if it wasn't for Reaves presence, the Pens lineup would have been subjected to further assault. But how do you count something that hasnt happened? Has dirty hits against per 60 decreased? Its a false argument and can never be proven (either way) so stop beating the dead horse already. That is, unless, you support the idea that more police equates to less crime. In case you do, then I suppose a line-up of more "goons" would be a snowflake's wet dream.

Hits, good ones and bad ones, are part of the game, as is fighting. The players lace their skates with full understanding of the potential risks. Until they exchange salaries, in the form of work stoppage, for their own safety, deal with this reality snowflake. In case you hadn't noticed, they're not playing touch football.

Sounds like prices are high because teams can afford to wait. About 8 clear sellers (5 from the Atlantic). Unless someone blinks prices should come down, but GMJR likes to make his traded early and seems ok overpaying a little for his guy so I'm a little nervous especially about Kane.

Love to know what he offered Botts for Kane. You would have to think Cole as a start then who knows what??

Galchenyuk and Patches are the obvious prizes, but a guy I've liked but his salary is just a smidge higher then I'd like is Andrew Shaw.

He can be your 3C or he can play wing and be a net front guy, including on the PP as he did both in Chicago and Montreal which means Hornqvist can be replaced. Still just 26. Positive possession guy. Good for about 30ish points.

Have to get the salary closer to 3M to be good value, but he's a nice depth piece.

RW... this years work has been the best in years... I love how agitated people get when you throw the obvious back in their faces over and over again. The Reaves trade was a microcosm of whats gone wrong for the pens this year. I'll take this type of solid writing over a chart any day of the year. Keep up the good work!

Depends what they believe their playoff chances are now, because they weren't great before that injury.

He's supposedly out 5-6 weeks, so unless they plan on trading for replacement player I'd say this injury kills their chances. I would imagine this puts them even more into seller mode.

I was never a fan of the trade and fully expected Reaves and his ability to "deter" to be under the fan microscope all year, but RW has been beating this dead horse; it's just too much.

That's it. Almost none of us support the trade anyways, but even those who don't like it are sick of hearing about it all the time. Last blog was probably the worst especially since he just skipped the real story in DeSmith. In general I like Ryan's blogs, but it gets tiresome with his whipping boys.

That is the thing, a "good" writer is neutral, can see through a neutral perspective and doesn't choose to be negative and constantly complain/whine about something that happened that "he" doesn't agree with.

It is just a self fulling prophecy RW writes with. Only those that are feeling insecure/fearful/jealousy inside need to bash others over and over and over again. This writing just wreaks of "woe is me". When you give someone "free will" to write about anything and they choose to be petty and negative....it says a lot about Ryan Wilson as a human being

I can read it each day cause it’s right. This team has little to no depth and few tradable assets to try for another cup. The guy picked with the 31st pick (and I don’t buy pens had a certain player in mind that they got anyway) would be a boon. To remove that asset for a 4th liner who isn’t doing the “job” he was supposed to do took already depleted depth and made it worse. Are people really upset that a third string goalie getting a win wasn’t covered more?

Just because anything written is correct doesn't mean you need to read every single day. Most here didn't like the move, most here believe it wouldn't work out, do we need a reminder in every blog?

People enjoy reading things on subjects they're interested and don't want to read about the same thing every single time. I have barely been reading his blogs as of late and just skipping right to the message board.

There are other things to write about regarding this team.

Someone said he was like Tanner and they're not far off. RW is definitely not nearly as much of a homer-in-denial, but they be are relentless with their agendas.
