"Reaves is on pace for 8.5 points"

And that is 8.5 more point then you are on pace for Mr Wilson! One Ryan chasing his dream in the NHL, one Ryan chasing his dreams being a writer, but only hacks write about petty things.

How ironic the title of this is King Nothing, you bash Reeves and your readers bash you.....as Alanis Morissette once said, Isn't it ironic, don't you think?

Ryan, if you're going to imply Reaves was traded for a first would it then be safe to say Sundqvist was traded for a 2nd? If so, then hats off to GMJR. Sundqvist has no goals and 3 assists this year and lately has been in the press box more than he's dressed.

Kinda looks like he went to lift stick not looking at Brown, the stick came up and got him and then Geno reached out for puck right after with stick between Brown's legs. This doesnt look like blatant spear ala Crosby to O'Rielly last year IMO.

EDIT: The more I watch this the more I see a bit of embellishment...

As someone who can be neutral, that was a pretty wicked pitchfork Malkin did.....and to be honest I wish he would be suspended a game. I love Malkins feisty nature but he walks that fine line and this act went over it from my perspective.

If this is a suspension, then the boarding by Brown and the head hit by Perry are much longer suspensions.

NHL has no standard for such discipline. It seems like the just do not watch some games. If only they had the inter-webs.

Just saw Brown only got a $10,000 fine. Pretty soft compared to Cogliano getting 2 games. Brown - repeat offender. Cogliano - first offense.

Did not look intentional, however you have to be in control of your stick, so I agree with the fine.

Now...once again about that Corey Perry hit on Letang???? Did not even warrant a hearing? No idea what a head hit is anymore. After watching that I feel bad that A Cog got suspended for his hit.

Brown is not a repeat offender under the CBA. His only disciplinary action was in 2013, which falls outside the window that can be considered. As far as player safety is concerned, this was a first offense for both of them.

Because Brown didn't target the head while Cogs did and Brown was ejected from the game while Cogs got a 2 min penalty. Had Cogs got the game I doubt he would have been suspended.

According to Schultz himself, he was fine, and sat out the last few minutes of the game because he was going through the concussion protocol, which he passed.

Kempe was also "fine."

He would have gotten 1 game then, no?

A match penalty shouldn't be equal to 2 full games.

I didn't say he wasn't. I was replying to the post that said that Schultz was injured because he missed the rest of the game. I wanted to point out that it wasn't true, evidenced by Schultz's own admission.

Brown wasn't given a match penalty. He got the automatic ejection that comes with a 5 minute major penalty, but it wasn't determined intent to injure, so it wasn't a match.

*Edit: After re-reading your comment, I think you were talking about the Cogliano hit, so never mind then....

I think the point was that player safety determined that Brown should get "time served" because he was ejected and missed the rest of the game, while Cogliano was given the suspension because he got away with only a minor penalty and was able to finish the game.

I have an idea about boarding penalties. How about if the player gets "boarded" and injured then its a penalty and the offender is suspended for the amount of time injured player is out.

There is no point on giving a player a boarding penalty if the player wasn't injured. Because the hit must not have been that bad to begin with. And how many times do players spin towards the boards just to get the call, they act hurt, draw the penalty and play on the next shift.

And no Im not an LA fan.

Get over yourself Wilson. He is on the team, he will remain on the team. How about writing about the Penguins or DeSmith?

It really sucks having you as the Penguins blogger.

The more people lose their minds that Ryan Reaves is a Penguin, the happier I am that he's a Penguin.
