Ledecky can really show JT something by replacing Garth now. The worse thing the Isles can do is let the season fall apart without doing something. I know this is a baseball saying, but they really do not want to leave the bat on their shoulder watching the 3rd strike this season.

Seems unlikely. JT is supposedly close to Snow. If the season continues to fall apart and JT signs elsewhere, then I think Snow is a goner. But I highly doubt he's going to be replaced mid-season.

Been saying all year that's exactly what I think will happen unfortunately. Garth Snow is an idiot.
- Cptmjl

As much as this is not JT's fault, I think it would be bad if he leaves without asking for a trade. I think it's wrong for any star player to leave a team without asking for a trade. It's one thing for a guy like MM or Frans to leave and an entirely different thing for someone like JT or Stamkos to leave a team for nothing.

Someone is going to have to explain to me how JT is close to Garth? Drafting JT 1st overall was not like Garth giving up a kidney. Garth has wasted a lot of good JT years so it makes no sense to me.

I know this is a baseball saying, but they really do not want to leave the bat on their shoulder watching the 3rd strike this season. Give up a 2nd round pick for a dman or forward to help the 3rd line. Start with smaller type moves. Forget thinking about a star dman right now.

We have no idea what JT wants. Maybe he really does like Snow and wants to deal with him. Maybe he's happy playing pond hockey every game and or playing for Weight. None of us have any idea what will make him sign and what won't. For all we know he will pull Hamonic and want to move closer to his family.

The Isles are going the wrong direction right now and there is no way that helps, but let's not pretend we know what's motivating JT's decision.

Trust me Jimmy I have no idea what JT is thinking and did not mean to infer I did. Team is in trouble with no help in sight so really not much else to do besides throw ideas around while we wait for the next Bridge call up to have an impact.

Wasnt Tavares quoted recently in Canada as saying he wants to remain an islander?

He always says the correct thing in interviews. He has since he was in juniors. The fact is he hasn't signed yet so something is holding him back. I have no idea what it may be, but I'm betting it's not the Islanders low balling him.

its all going to be OK. Isles are frontrunners for Green and Gudbranson. We trade for Lehner and the cup is ours! no seriously, what if the Isles traded JT to phoenix for OEL another young offensive stud and a high pick? New GM comes in with plethora of picks, new building etc. Maybe the rebuild is over in a year or two? maybe not the worst thing in the world?

All we know is what he has told us which is all he wants to do is win. If we're to believe what he's telling us than I see no reason for him to sign.

He also said he has faith in Snow. He said he had confidence in Crappy. He said he wanted Weight to be the coach this year. We don't know what he's thinking. I'm not saying he's going to sign, I'm saying we don't have a clue what he'll do or why.

JT has always said that his great passion is to play the game and every player craves the playoffs and a big cup run, let alone the cup itself.

You can never overrate JT as a player because every coach in the league would love to have him. As captain of his jr team and now the Islanders he can be overrated as a leader because of his low key personality. As many of us are introverts it is more of his style to lead by example. It always bothered me that Molson, the one guy he was closest to got traded by numbnutz which struck me as bizarre.

BTW Halak was also one of the big UFA's of four years ago and I think he is no longer the same athlete he was then. So chances are we may see another young goaltender.

Next season as a minimum no Chimera or Seidenberg.

The odds of a big stretch run are against them because of the goaltending and D and factor in the state of the competition in CAR, PHA and even BUF looks like they are improving and will not be an easy two pts.

Try to expand your telepathic powers into mind control to get JT to sign ... and to make Snow resign.

this trade is def a trade would definite make a lot of sense. One problem Karlson is major upgrade over leddy but our defense still sucks.
we need karlson and leddy on this team.
