wheeler has him as nhl ready, but doesn't make him sound high-end. his offense blooming at 23 is a late to translate to the nhl ... and 26 points in 34 games isn't really impressive at 23.

Not sure about the line #, but with pairings (like Mike loves) he could fit in with Matthews and Marner, assuming Nylander eventually switches over to centre.

Why not just bring up Kapanen, and play him on the LW?

Matthews has been having a rough time since the first concussion.

Lately he looks like he did when he had his dry spell last year. I hope he figures this out. There is no 12 million contract waiting for a guy who s 43rd in PPG.

It doesn't help that it seems like every goalie we face now makes incredible saves all game long. Nuevirth won that game for philadelphia.

com'on man. he had 3 leafs in his top 50 and mentioned dermott as a candidate; if not just called up. so basically at least 4 guys ahead of him.

kapanen's numbers ( a point/game at 20 years old!) make him look like he has high-end offensive potential in the nhl.

sounds like johnson is nhl ready, but i'd be surprised if he's much more than a 40 point player.
