Talk was of a late round pick for him until he injured his big toe.
- SABRES 89

Is he due back before the deadline?
Maybe we can still move him

His injury timeline should have him healthy prior to deadline. Should press box him when he returns.

We actively trying to trade him or did they decide they like his play in this system?
- TheSabresTaco

I’d still move Bogo,
but I think he’s played “ok” for us this year

I mean, yeah, I would too. But I'm curious about what the team thinks of their asset.

Teams will probably wanna see him play though before trading for him

Bogo could be an ok depth defenseman for a playoff team

Couple teams had interest for a real late round pick, i'm sure we are stuck with him.

Not a fan of them?

What do u think we should do at QB sir?

- jdfitz77

Use the high picks to fill holes in the roster, use the early second rounder for RUDOLPH. He has more upside, and will provide a longer window.

Find a cost-controlled caretaker who can manage the show for 1.5 - 2 years while Rudolph learns the ropes. Make the playoffs those years, go hard at the Super Bowl in year 2 or 3.

Homie or 89 might have some insight

From the “eye test”
I think Bogo has looked ok for us

He’s gotta be one of the most injury prone guys in the whole league though

Unless we project to have a real problem with the cap, it's probably worth keeping him if the only offer is a late pick. Late picks rarely turn into anything, and say what you will about Bogo, but his play is worth more than a 6th or 7th. Even with his dumpy contract.

We certainly have holes...
But “Franchise QB” is by far the biggest

Once we fill that,
the other stuff will fall into place
U can find fills for those other spots in free agency & later in the draft

I’d prefer to use those picks as well,
and just sign someone like Keenum or Cousins

But even if we “sell the farm” to move up...
I’d be cool with it as long as we got the right guy
(I don’t think the Bills will do that though)

- jdfitz77

I get the thought process, and no one could really blame them if they did...I just think those pieces your talking about will either be expensive on the open market or those lower picks won't fill the holes properly

I like Rudolph as well
But if we wanna make sure we get him,
we probably gotta take him in the 1st

I could see someone like NO or NE or PIT take him to be their heir apparent with their aging QBs

His play is worth more than that
BUT
He’s always hurt, so how useful is he to us?
and
It’s probably worth moving him just to clear some Cap space going forward
We don’t NEED the room,
but it also won’t hurt to have it

We need a roster spot for Guhle next year
And hopefully for Dahlin
But even if we don’t win the lotto,
I think I’d rather see Antipin get some more playing time to see what he can develop into

I agree
They’d just be temporary fills until we can eventually draft the guys McDermott would really wants

What if Keenum signs in Minny & Cousins stays in Wash?

Idk of there’s any other QBs out there I’m all that interested in?
In that case,
I think I’d pick Rudolph at 21/22

Idk why the Hawks would do that?
They’ve got Crawford

Right...
but what about going forward?

They aren’t gonna pay Lehner 4mil + to be Crawford’s backup
Especially with their Cap situation

And I certainly don’t see them moving a guy like Debrincat for goalie help
They’re gonna need him

A goalie who contract is expiring this year that won’t cost them a high pick seems like a better option for them

This is an outstanding blog:

Your points in regards to bogo are excellent.

Spot on with both sides of the discussion :

Hope they can get something for him, especially if they eat a portion of the contract, like you suggested.
