I know homie and 89 have good sources and often provide accurate info here but I firmly believe that Botts had no intention of ever re signing Kane.

Not just because of the recent report. Because it doesn't really make sense with the blueprint he wants and learned from the Pens and it doesn't fit the timeline of being patient with where the sabres are headed.
