Jake Gardiner???? Career high 10 Goals and is considered an offensive D. No thanks. Kid has one season in the plus, rest major minuses. Meyers is a quality shut down pairing D, all the while, posting more goals year in-year out. Meyers stays. But Mark Letestu would be a solid addition at the price of a 3rd Rounder.

Once again....If we want to go for it and win the cup then we want Tavares. Isles are flailing and I doubt they make the playoffs. Jets have better assets to trade than any other contending team out there . Combine that with the huge salary cap room we have and Chevy really has the upper hand here vs any other team . I don't believe teams like Tampa have the cap room .

It all comes down to whether Tavares is willing to come to Winnipeg as a rental. I personally think he will be willing to do so because he really really wants his name on a cup and would quickly realize that with himself inserted into the Jets lineup our team will be hard to stop.

Tavares = 1st , 2nd, Copp or Poolman, + Petan or similar prospect.... and of course they save on his remaining salary for the rest of the season.

Just imagine Tavares setting up Laine like he does Josh Bailey. It would be epic.

Connor- Sheif- Wheeler
Ehlers - Tavares - Laine
Perreault - Little - Armia
Lowry - Hendricks - Tanev

Lets do it Chevy !

Haha. I think the asking price is wayyyyyy higher than that. Maybe Ehlers, Hellebuyck, 1st, Morrissey, and Poolman..... Would love Tavares, but as a projected 2C on your lineup, its never gonna happen.

Nope, not Poolman. He is a hometown boy that the Jets patiently waited for and has proved he can play at this level. East Grandforks is a hometown boy with connections to the Jets. Throw another D in there, prospect perhaps and we have a deal.

I am stubborn on this one but Poolman is a late bloomer, Frozen Four winner and has went from almost not making making the NAHL team to Frozen Four winner at UND to NHL / AHL. He knows how to perservere and win. Look at Enstrom, drafted 239 and Buff 245 round 8 in the same year. Look what these 2 late drafts became and the longevity of their careers? Too many coaches like Paul Baxter see good things with Poolman, throw in a prospect. I am going to be p'd off if Poolman gets traded.

Ridiculous. Tavares is nothing more than a 3 month rental. Jets don't have to part with any major asset at all. Also the Jets top two lines are equal so its not based on how I listed the lines..... and Tavares would be on the top PP unit for sure.

That makes me feel better, lol. But I agree that Tavares would be a 3 month rental so assets would be similar to what you stated. Chevy, aka scrooge, will never trade a roster players like Ehlers, Helle (for sure not Helle) Connor, Morrisey etc for a rental. And, Tavares would be a rental. There is talk of 15 mill for 7 years, so that is rental. I realize that something of value must go back but he won't trade top 6 roster assets or top pairing D for a rental. Picks, propsects yes, top 6 and or a goalie, never.

What the heck with Mason? 2nd concussion? Well, I guess it is plain good depth that we have the top AHL goalie in the organization with a chip on his shoulder, p*ssed off with something to prove. Not a bad insurance policy i guess.

this is 100% proof you base all decisions solely on Advanced stats and have never watched him play.

Gardiner is like Postma, looks good on paper but makes bone head decisions all the time that directly cause goals against. To bad there is no advanced stat for " why in the world did he do that"

- Ross77

Unlike Myers, Gardiner gets results. Myers makes bad decisions on almost every play. I don’t care how Gardiner looks out there, because he gets positive results.

According to Rexypoo, Enstrom is like Karlsson just left-handed.
- TheUltimateJet

Uh, what? They were in the same conversation around 2010-11, before Karlsson exploded. I don’t know how you put Enstrom, or anyone really, next to Karlsson.

Stats are for losers - it’s been around for awhile that saying?

Question Enstrom lover- would he survive a full playoff round? It’s ok to be a fan but fandom with no objectivity is not good. He’s on pace for 7 goals in the last 4 years, the loyalty (both ways) has to expire this year.
When we faced Anaheim he was destroyed by the forechecking. A liability then and worse now.
He’s ok, can live with him for regular season but like a goon, not much help in the playoffs

A: it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find information in different players because every single person I relied on to get my loser stats has been hired by an NHL team. I’m down to about 3 sources.

B: yes. Unless they decide to go out of their way to injure him (or anyone else), he’ll be fine. Enstrom was the best non-Trouba dman last time around, and that was with a tear in his shoulder. I’m not concerned. Dude didn’t spend the better part of a decade as a legit top pairing dman because he liked getting hit.

On your second point, I think he will be OK for the rest of the season, but in the playoffs, we all know Rexy that the opposing team will throw it to his corner then pressure him and hammer him for puck separation.

Let's face the truth. Enstrom is a great story and has been a great asset for the organization. Drafted 8th round, 239 (7 ahead of Buff in the same year) the guy at 239 has been nothing short of amazing. But, the reality is that the end of NHL days are coming to a close quickly. There might be a one year deal in the future, who knows but he was amazing, had a great career, but sadly the reality is that his career is moving to the rear view mirror. I think that is the reality of every NHL player at some point.
