This is true. Plus... I don't believe Sullivan is a fan of "deterrent" hockey. I think it's pretty obvious Sullivan and Rutherford have divergent opinions on this.

The Pens have dug themselves a hole and they can't afford to be making points about cheap shots. If things weren't so tight, I would have loved to see Reaves thump Perry.

I don’t disagree, but I think what he’s missing is figuring out how to keep up with NHL talent. It’s not really an effort thing, he’s back checking fine and running interference in the neutral zone, it’s more of an offensive positioning thing and learning how to support on the boards. I think being up in the NHL is best for him at this point in time. In the AHL he’ll just keep finding soft spots and scoring at will, which he can already do.

He definitely has some "awareness" issues and is a bit of a floater. It's still too early to judge. Other than last night, I think he's been fine generally. Not tragic defensively.

I think it really is just a teaching opportunity. He's too dynamic to keep out of the lineup. Sully knows it.

Watching Schultz.....I really think he's undervalued. He pinches CORRECTLY unlike others. He plays the body well and doesn't puck watch. He has a good stick and is more physical this year. A player that's definitely earning the contract he received.
